From The Principal...

It has been a wonderful 4-day week at Manitou Springs High School! It has also been exhilarating to see students and staff working together to access powerful learning, such as Dance students developing their own line dances, English students citing textual evidence, and World Language students engaging in partner discussions in the target language.

Also a huge congratulations to our Boys’ Golf team on their impressive performance at TriPeak League Golf tournament including Jack C. taking third and Hayden D. winning the tournament! This is the first time in Mustang history that we have had two athletes in the top three in the league!

Next week, we are looking forward to our first School Accountability Committee (SAC) meeting on Tuesday, 9/12 from 5:30-6:30 pm in the MSHS Media Center and are seeking parent/guardian volunteers: please join us! We will be meeting at the same time/location on 11/14, 2/13, and 4/9. Our purpose will be to discuss recommendations for improvement strategies, funding priorities, and our action plan. From Safety & Security...

We are happy to introduce Officer Devin Tenboer who works for Baker and King Security. Devin has previous law enforcement experience to include narcotic investigations, patrol sergeant and was a school resource officer as well. He will have a desk in the Commons, but you will see him walking the interior and exterior of the high school and SILC. He will assist with crosswalk duties, monitor cameras and lunch duties. Welcome Devin!

From The PAC...

This week PAC had our first meeting of the school year. We are thrilled to have approved Mini Grants for the High School including Edible Experiments for AP Statistics, 20 Graphic Novels for Ms. Kerrigan's class library, and 2 new printing presses for the Printmaking class.

The Wresting Team is hosting a fundraiser for a new wrestling mat. Please consider donating here - Wrestling Fundraiser

Right now, between the High school and Middle school wrestling programs we both share the same mat for competition. Our hopes are that if we can raise enough money, we would be able to purchase a new mat and eventually be able to host more events! A second mat will also allow the middle school program to be able to practice right after school instead of practicing after the high school practices.
