Holiday Cards for Local Senior Citizens
In December, BHS students joined our School Counselors in making Holiday Cards that will be delivered to one of Brookfield's assistant living residency.

New Year, New Focus: Prioritize Your Mental Well-being!
The start of a new year is a great time to set new goals and prioritize your overall well-being. Just like physical health, mental health requires consistent attention.
Remember:
It's okay to not be okay. Everyone experiences challenges.
Reaching out for help is a sign of strength. Our counseling office provides a safe and supportive space to discuss any concerns.
Don't wait until things feel overwhelming. Let's make this year your year of mental wellness. If you feel like you need support beyond what we can offer in school, keep in mind the following resources:

2025 CASC Mental Health Night
CASC’s second annual Virtual Mental Health Night is designed to bring helpful information, tips and tricks, and resources related to mental health in teens to high school students. During this event, students can learn about different ways they can manage stress, impacts social media has on mental health, and how to build better relationships. This event is split into 4 sessions, consisting of a keynote speaker from the CDHI, two breakout sessions, and a Mental Health Huddle. Some Breakout sessions include: Managing Stress During a Study Sesh; Peer Pressure and Building Better Relationships, Releasing Stress through music. Register Here

Graduates of Albertus Magnus College who complete their degree in four years are awarded a $1,925 grant? If you’ve settled your tuition, you’re free to use the funds however you wish! This can be an excellent opportunity to launch your career and life post-graduation!
Students from CT are automatically eligible for a scholarship at the University of Cincinnati? To qualify for the $6,000 renewable UC National Outreach Awards, incoming freshmen need to submit a complete application for admission—which includes the Common Application with UC-specific sections and a high school transcript—by December 1 of their senior year. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.85 weighted or 3.5 unweighted at the time of application submission. Cincinnati also guarantees to maintain your tuition for the entire four-year period—no price increases! The Cincinnati campus is in an urban setting and hosts one of the nation’s original co-op programs!
Undergraduate students from Connecticut who apply and are admitted to King’s College for the 2024-25 academic year will receive a competitive scholarship package that includes both merit-based scholarships and institutional aid, bringing their tuition and fees down to the applicable amount for their state? This means tuition is lowered from $42,000 to $21,000 per year. Aspiring lawyers should note that King’s collaborates with Villanova, providing FULL tuition scholarships to Villanova Law School.
The University of the South (Sewanee) promises students will graduate in four years, given there are no major changes and satisfactory academic progress, or they will offer one year of free tuition? Additionally, Sewanee guarantees funding for a summer internship. The university has been highlighted in the Fiske Guide to College, Princeton Review’s Best Colleges, Colleges Worth Your Money, and Money’s Best Colleges.
Johnson & Wales is now offering three year bachelor’s degrees? The new fully accredited three-year bachelor’s degree programs in Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Graphic Design, and Hospitality Management are designed for career-focused students and families. Launching in Fall 2025, these in-person programs offer students a faster track to graduation, the savings that come from one year's less tuition, and a faster entry into their career.
