Summer Director Contact
Ms. Taylor will be available to receive email daily through June 7th.
All directors will be putting email accounts into summer away mode after the conclusion of PISD band camp; however, Ms. Taylor will check email on occasion (likely on Mondays through the summer) for summer emergency needs.
2024-2025 Band Placements
PISD BAND CAMP - Registration due TODAY!
School-Owned Instrument Updates
OBOES: We expect instruments to be brought to us from Brook Mays in mid to late June. We will email you when instruments are ready for pick-up.
ALL OTHERS: Most instruments have been successfully picked up by now - great job, band! Any students who still need to pick up instruments from Reynolds can reach out directly to Ms. Taylor to arrange a pickup time.
INSTRUMENT REPAIR NEEDS DURING THE SUMMER: Students/families are responsible for any instrument repair needs throughout the summer. All summer repairs must be taken care of at Brook Mays - McKinney location. For summer repair questions, feel free to email Ms. Taylor.
Required Supplies for 7/8 Bands
NEW REQUIRED ITEMS FOR 7TH GRADE:
- Book: Foundations for Superior Performance
- Flip Folder with 5 Extra Pages and Lyre - used for football games and pep rallies in middle school and high school. Not all instruments will require a lyre - this varies by type of instrument
SUMMER MAINTENANCE:
- Please check your child's TM60 and microphone clip for possible damage - common areas of damage include screen damage, broken microphone cable, or new batteries needed. If the screen is broken, a new TM-60 is needed. If the tuner needle moves when the microphone is plugged in and the student is not playing OR if the needle does not move even though your child is playing, the clip is broken and needs to be replaced.
- We recommend taking personal instruments to the store for an annual check-up! It's like getting an oil change for the car, and makes a HUGE difference in playing! Most annual check-ups and repairs are typically covered in your rental agreement and do not cost anything out of pocket.
- Woodwinds: Please make sure to wash swabs in the washing machine! Recommended wash settings: Cold water, light detergent, no fabric softener, wash in a delicates bag. Dry on coolest setting, no dryer sheet.
The Brook Mays link below should be set up to deliver directly home addresses; however, any materials delivered to Reynolds by the music store will be given to students at camp and as we receive them.

PRIVATE LESSONS
Access at reynoldsband.com/lessons
Symphonic Winds students should plan to take as many private lessons during the summer as schedules will permit. All others are also highly encouraged to continue lessons during the summer. Summer is a great time to focus on music and other fundamentals that students might not have as much time to work on during the school year due to the demands of school as well as concerts.
