UES Monthly Newsletter
October: Happy Fall
Dear Families and Caregivers,
As we wrap up the first month of school, we want to take a moment to thank you for helping make this a successful and exciting start to the year! It has been a joy to welcome students back, meet many of you during our Back-to-School Nights, and get to know your children as we see them in classrooms, at lunch, and during recess.
At UES, we focus on creating a positive environment through our school rules, which we call the "Big Three": Make Safe Choices, Be Respectful, and Build Community. These guiding principles help ensure that our school is a place where everyone feels safe, supported, and part of a caring community.
We are looking forward to the coming month and all the exciting events ahead! October will bring the Week of Respect, the Book Fair, and, of course, our Halloween celebrations. We are excited to continue building strong connections and creating lasting memories with your children.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to an incredible month ahead!
Warm regards,
Dr. J and the UES Leadership Team

Throughout the week, students will engage in meaningful conversations about understanding their own feelings, being empathetic toward others, and the importance of standing up against bullying. We will also celebrate each student's unique qualities and how they contribute to our diverse world. To add to the fun, we have themed spirit days planned to bring our community together:
- Monday (Inside Out Day): Wear your clothes inside out to show how we can look at things from a different perspective.
- Tuesday (Unity Day): Wear your grade-level color to symbolize our unity. 4th Grade - Yellow, 5th Grade - Green, 6th Grade - Blue.
- Wednesday (Wacky Wednesday): Get creative and wear your wackiest outfit!
- Thursday (Team Day): Show your team spirit by wearing a team shirt or a UES shirt.
- Friday (Pajama Day): End the week in comfort by wearing your pajamas.
We look forward to a fun-filled week of learning and growing together!
