Worthington Kilbourne Weekly News
Week of May 12, 2025
Dear Kilbourne Family,
First, thank you to our WKHS PTO for their weeklong celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week! Our PTO leadership has been a generous group and they do so much for the betterment of the school. We love our teachers and we love our PTO.
Secondly, we have entered the final days for our senior class. Thank you to the seniors and all of our families for the memories. It has been great seeing you at various events as we wind down the school year, and the biggest event of all is right around the corner. This class has done an exceptional job at building school spirit. Our senior leadership at our pep rallies and athletic events has been outstanding. The seniors participating in and attending our performing arts programs has been at an all-time high. The PACK is healthy and the PACK is prospering; these seniors have left their mark.
I want you to enjoy these final days. Take time to watch your students and how they interact with their friends and their teachers. These memories will last a lifetime and you should be very proud of the young men and young women that you have raised. We are grateful you chose Worthington.
Best,
Aric Thomas, Principal

WEA Friend of Education, WKHS 2024-25
Roshi Jamshidi is being recognized as the 2024-2025 Friend of Education for WKHS. Each year, the WEA recognizes someone in each school community who has demonstrated exceptional support for the students and staff of Worthington Schools. This is what Head Football Coach Michael Edwards had to say about Roshi:
"Roshi Jamshidi is our Worthington Kilbourne High School WEA Friend of Education recipient for the 2024-25 school year. I have had the pleasure of working alongside her the last three years as well as coaching and mentoring her son, Shion. Roshi has been a model parent of one of our student athletes, where she dedicates herself to everything she can to make our students’ and teachers’ experience here at WKHS a positive one.
Roshi volunteers her time for anything she is asked to do. This includes athletics boosters, team meals, pre-game meals, banquets, and all PTO activities. The things that impress me the most about Roshi is the pure joy and happiness she displays when doing all of these extra things for our school, teachers, and student/athletes. On top of that, she doesn’t take short cuts; everything she’s involved in gets done with excellence.
I believe Roshi is thankful for the experience her son has had at this school and shows that appreciation through her actions and willingness to volunteer. I hope that she realizes that one of the big reasons her son's experience is so positive here at WKHS is because of people like her. We (students, staff, and coaches) appreciate the incredible amount of time, dedication, and detail Roshi spills back into our school.
Thank you Roshi!!!!"

Parents: Athletic Eligibility Reminders
Have a student athlete? Please read the athletic eligibility guidelines for BOTH OHSAA and Worthington Schools listed below. These apply for all Athletics and Marching Band along with the performance and competition activities noted on our list of Clubs and Activities.
Students must be working towards earning 2.5 credits in the preceding grading period in order to be eligible for participation.
- At the conclusion of the quarter and semester, students must be passing 2.5 credits with a 60% or higher.
- PE courses (Strength Training, Yoga, Wellness for Life, and Flex and Tone) do not count towards athletic eligibility.
- College Credit Plus, online courses, and DACC enrollment are all great opportunities but they come with responsibility. Make sure your student still meets the minimum credit requirement.
- If you are enrolled in an online Treca course, you must demonstrate that you are 50% completed with the course, and passing by the end of the 1st or 3rd quarters. You must then complete the course by the end of the 2nd and 4th quarters, which is the end of the fall and spring semester.
Please see your School Counselor, Principals, or Athletic Directors with questions.
