Liberty Weekly Update
January 7,2025
School Hours
School Starts at 8:40 am
School Ends at 3:40 pm
Doors open at 8:05. There is NO supervision before this time!
Brrr... the weather's getting chillier!
Please note that our doors open at 8:05 am, as there is no supervision before this time. If you need to drop your student off before then, please ensure they are dressed warmly for the cold. The entryway can only stay so warm with frequent door openings, and space is limited, so many students end up waiting outside. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us keep everyone comfortable and safe!
Lost and Found
We have lots of coats, hats, and mittens in our Lost and Found. Please have your learner look through the items as they will be donated and/or thrown soon!
Message from the Social Worker
If your family is experiencing food insecurity, please contact your school social worker, Sara Renfrew @ srenfrew@west-fargo.k12.nd.us.
Hello 8th Grade Families,
9th grade transition is quickly approaching! At Liberty Middle School, we are in the initial stages of helping prepare our learners for Sheyenne High School. Recently Ms. Raile, the Mustang Career Counselor, did a Career Cluster lesson from the RU Ready ND state website for learners to help match interests with careers. When we return from winter break, your learner will have an opportunity to explore 9th grade electives, followed by a 4 Year Planning classroom lesson with Sheyenne High School counselors. These steps are in place to help learners and families prepare for 8th grade parent-teacher conferences and 9th Grade Registration. These will take place on January 30th and February 4th from 4pm to 7:30 pm. Every 8th grade learner and parent/guardian must attend one of the nights of parent-teacher conferences in order to register for their 9th grade classes. Please plan to attend one of the nights with your learner.
Information on classes offered at Sheyenne can be found on the Sheyenne website under the student tab and course catalog (updates will be coming soon!).
Counselors’ Corner
Advisories will take time to reestablish expectations after the long break, as well as do some reflection on 2024 and goal setting for 2025. We’d like to take this opportunity to remind you who your learner’s grade level counselor is and how to get ahold of them.
