WELCOME BULLDOGS! 🐾
On behalf of the entire Bellerose Staff, we hope that everyone is enjoying their well-earned summer break and are starting to look forward to an exciting 2024-2025 school year.
For all of our new Bulldogs, welcome to the Bellerose Family! Bellerose is such a fantastic place to belong and we look forward to meeting you and welcoming you into our school. Bellerose offers a strong variety of programs, activities, and opportunities for students to get involved in their learning and their community. Our student and leadership teams will be hosting a Week of Welcome that will include a Team and Clubs Fair on Friday, August 30th, over the lunch hour. Please take some time to explore what Bellerose has to offer you!
At Bellerose, we value our focus on inclusivity! An integral part of our school identity has always been celebrating the different strengths and interests of our students. This focus is reflected in the diverse programming our school offers. Bellerose continues to build upon and create great programs and traditions in all academic areas, as well as showcase first class programs and events, such as Bikeathon, the International Baccalaureate Programme, our Inclusive Education programs, fine arts shows, our Musical Theatre production, Athletics, Physical Education and Health Pathway programs, Student Leadership teams, and CTS. We look forward to having you join us in the variety of activities and events that will highlight your high school memories and support many worthwhile community initiatives.
Enjoy the rest of your summer and we will see you all in late August!

ALL COURSE CHANGES FOR SEMESTER 1 NEED TO BE COMPLETED BEFORE FRIDAY, AUGUST 30th. COURSE CHANGES AFTER THIS DATE MAY NOT BE ACCOMODATED.
In September, your timetable may change even if you did not request a change. If this is the case, you should find that the courses are the same, but where they are placed on your schedule is different. These changes are a result of the need to balance class sizes, changes to teaching assignments or the addition of sections of a course to the school schedule.

PowerSchool
IMPORTANT POWER SCHOOL LOG-IN INFORMATION
PowerSchool Parent Portal access is created at the school level for all students. If you are new to St. Albert Public Schools, click the link below for detailed instructions on how to enter the PowerSchool Parent Portal for the first time.
Parents/Guardians are able to access a child’s grades, attendance and fees using the PowerSchool ParentPortal login. If you have more than one child attending school in our District, you will be able to view each of your children through the same login. If you have difficulty accessing your PowerSchool ParentPortal Account please contact bellerose@spschools.org after August 19th.
Student Attendance
Regular attendance is vital to a student's academic success and is a key factor in a studentss ability to have a strong connection to all aspects of classroom and school learning. This is particularly important in the fast paced semesters of high school.
If you know that your student will be late or absence from class, we ask that you notify the school with a brief message at br.absences@spschools.org or 780.460.8490
For any absences that are unexcused, an automated phone system contacts the home between 4-9pm when a student has missed a class. If you are unaware of the absence, you are encouraged to speak to your student and contact the school if you require follow up action.
Student Fees
School fees will be posted to your student’s account starting in October. Parents will be able to view and pay school fees on the PowerSchool ParentPortal.
Parking
Student parking pass applications will be available online through the PowerSchool Parent portal following the Grade-level assemblies on August 28th. Students who plan to apply for a parking pass should review the Bellerose Student Parking Expectations & Agreements.
Parents, please do not drop or pick up students in the school parking lots. We are concerned for the safety of our students and staff.
STUDENT PARKING is in the WEST LOT ONLY. Student parking is not permitted in the East lot, which is for Staff & Visitor parking only. Parents are also reminded that the East lot (where the Bellerose sign is located) is the staff parking lot and every parking space, other than the ones designated ‘Visitor,’ are allocated to staff members. Please refrain from parking in staff parking stalls.
Student Busing
Student Busing is handled at Division Office or through the Division website. Questions should be directed to Transportation Services at 780.460.3712 or at 60 Sir Winston Churchill Avenue.

Change of Demographics
If you or your student change phone number, address, email address, etc., please contact the school at bellerose@spschools.org to update your information.
Insurance Waiver Forms
Staff members/coaches are required by District Policy to have Waiver Forms completed and signed for student activities/athletics. From time to time, please expect that your son/daughter will require a waiver form be signed and returned to the school to allow participation in an activity/event. Your cooperation is appreciated in ensuring that waiver forms are returned as quickly as possible. It is also recommended by the district that students carry Student Accident Insurance, particularly if the student is involved in activities and athletics. INDUSTRIAL ALLIANCE PACIFIC INSURANCE FORMS can be found and applied for online.
