Every student is assigned a book locker which is to be used and LOCKED for the entire school year. Lockers have been randomly assigned and there will be NO Locker change requests.
**Backpacks are to be stored in YOUR own locker, not on the floor or around campus.**
** First Day of School Info **
School Entry (Day 1 ONLY):
All students need to report to the Gym Entry Gate and then proceed to the Stage Area (immediate left after gate) to pick up their class schedules between 7:30 am and 8:50 am. Parents, please do not pull into Staff Parking lot to drop students off.
Schedule Pick-Up at the Stage (7:30 to 8:50 am)
Volunteers will be available to provide each student with their complete schedule of classes including their teachers and room numbers. After picking up their schedules, students will head to the lunch area. Although we understand, the first day of school brings a great deal of anxiety for parents and students, parents are not permitted onto campus. Please say your goodbyes at an earlier time and allow the Leopard staff the opportunity to help guide and support your student. If you need a photo opt, we will have our โLCโ arch at the gate for a great background.
Q/Access to Schedules: Parents can access their studentโs schedule on Q/Parent Connect at 12:00 pm on Monday, 8/19. Students should still pick up a paper copy at the stage on the first day of school in case there were any changes made.
A Period: Students with an A period class should plan on picking up their schedule between 7:30 and 7:55 am. A period classes begin at 8:04 am.
Band/Orchestra Students: Please DO NOT bring your instruments to school on the first day of school. Your teachers will notify you when it is time.
PE/Dressing: Students WILL NOT dress for the first few days of school. Students need to keep their uniform and PE locks at home or in their locker until notified by their PE teachers.
Student Support: The administration, counselors, teachers, and our leadership and WEB students will be greeting students as they enter school and pick up their schedule in order to help them locate their classes, lockers, and just provide a helpful hand as our new students navigate middle school for the first time.
Drop-off/Pick-Up: On the first day of school can be a bit confusing and chaotic. Please plan to arrive early to find a parking spot on the street or an easy place to drop off your student. The staff parking lot on Flores is CLOSED for all morning drop-offs so please look for locations along Flores or Erbes Rd. to park along the curb.
10 Minute Rule: Traffic subsides a great deal by 3:20 pm and is much easier to navigate to pick up your student.
Cafeteria News!
Welcome back leopard families once again this year we will be offering free meals, both breakfast and lunch to the students.
All students will be required to scan their ID cards for all meals.
Please remind them to bring their cards with them daily or leave in their locker. If you don't have your ID card, know your ID number. Until students receive their new ID cards, students can use their temporary ID cards from orientation. ID CARDS WILL MAKE LINES GO MUCH FASTER!
In addition to our daily meals we will be offering ร la carte items for sale so please add money to your students accounts in Q.

Annual Updates Completion
Please make sure your family completes the Annual Updates BEFORE Orientation. See below for instructions from the District Office.
If you are UNABLE to complete the update before Orientation, we will have computers set up at orientation to complete the process. This will increase the time it takes to get through all our orientation stations.
See the attachment for a step-by-step instruction guide to navigate the update.
Message from the District:
- Please complete the required Annual Updates for each of your CVUSD students by Monday, August 12, 2024.
- Annual Updates must be completed for every student, every year, even if the student has recently enrolled in CVUSD for the first time. We want to ensure that we have the most up-to-date information about your student(s) and that you are well informed about laws and policies pertaining to your childโs education.
- Please complete the update process in Q Parent Connection.
- For those that do not have access to Q Parent Connection, paper copies of the required Annual Updates forms may be obtained from Student Support Services at the CVUSD District Educational Center, 1400 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks, CA 91362 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or from your childโs school upon their office reopening.
