Board of Education Meeting Recap

-Wednesday students will compete in the annual fitness superstar competition held by our athletics department

- The fall play is this weekend, "12 Angry Jurors" (read more about it below)

- The USO is hosting a basketball tournament for students during lunch beginning at the end of this week. Winners will get a chance to play a team of teachers.

- The first quarter ends this week and report cards will be sent out next week.

- SHS is gearing up for winter sports, which begin November 18. More information on sports teams can be found here.

Dr. Gundersen introduced three of our drama students, who came to speak about the Suffern High School play, "Twelve Angry Jurors," which will be held this weekend at the high school. Unique this year - the directors created a black box theater, in which the stage and set are eye level with the audience, making the audience feel like they are part of the show. Tickets are limited! Buy them online or at the door.

On Thursday, November 7 at 6:00 pm, in our District offices in Hillburn, our PPS Department along with the Special Education PTA will be hosting a session on 504 plans. If your child has a 504, or you're curious about what getting a 504 entails, please come by!

Lastly, Dr. Gundersen thanked and praised all of our teachers and staff for participating in a productive conference day on Tuesday. From poverty simulations to department specific workshops and updating on learning standards, our staff was engaged as they worked together.
