Did you know...children who don't show up for school regularly miss out on fundamental reading and math skills and the chance to build a habit of good attendance that will carry them into college and careers. The graphic shows results from a study that found children who missed more than 9 days per year in kindergarten and 1st grade were far less likely to read proficiently at the end of 3rd grade.

Chess Club is back at OUES! Meeting on the 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month after school in the cafeteria, we expect to be able to open up additional spots for players in 1st through 4th grade soon. Sign up now to join the waitlist & we will contact you as soon as spots open up!

We frequently have students who are unable to bring snacks from home, so we maintain an extra supply in the office. If you’d like to donate snacks, please sign up using the link below. Kindly ensure that all items are peanut- and tree nut-free. Popular options include Goldfish, Cheez-Its, and pretzels!

IT'S DRAGON DASH SZSN!

Thank you to our amazing Dragon Dash team led by Erin Pitcher and the dozens of volunteers who transformed Old Union on Thursday to the most magical place on earth! It's our students' turn to fundraise for our school and this year our prizes are bigger and better than ever!

Join the Award Winning Emerald Belles on Saturday, October 19th from 1-4p at Carroll Senior High School for the Junior Belle Clinic and Workshop including grades K-8! This will also feature a Performance at Dragon Stadium on October 24th! Dancers receive training, a commemorative photo button and T-shirt for the performance night. Snacks are provided.

• Step 4: School Kitchen Manager will email the parent and teacher confirmation the order has been processed.

While the above food items have currently been found to be in compliance with the Allergy Aware CISD Notice, please continue to check the food label as companies change their ingredients and manufacturing facilities. This list is intended as a guideline for parents and party planners. Other food items in compliance with the Allergy Aware Notice are also permissible. As a reminder, all classroom consumption foods, not personal snacks, must contain a label.
