CLASS SPOTLIGHT: Ms. D's Preschool
Welcome Fall! Ms. D’s class has been exploring the outdoors! We looked closely at our leaf, stick, and flower findings with magnifying glasses. We sorted, grouped, and counted our fabulous treasures.
We have become familiar with our daily routines, identifying our names for folders, backpacks, and our special place to sit with our friends at our tables. Preschoolers have been practicing writing the first letter of their name.
We have been working on one-to-one correspondence and rote counting during play and group time.
R-E-S-P-E-C-T has been our focus word. Ms. D’s class has been working very hard on being respectful. We treat others with kindness.
Busy Bees have entered the classroom! Each station has several busy bees. We take turns, share, and explore during free play!
Mrs. Terris’ wonderful 4th grade class has joined us for READING BUDDIES. 4th graders and preschoolers buddy up to read and do crafts. This is a very exciting time in our classroom.
Preschoolers will continue to learn letter recognition, identify school days and non-school days on the calendar, count and create patterns.
I love seeing the Doctors, Veterinarians, Architects, Puppeteers, Chefs, and Farmers emerge each day! I look forward to what tomorrow will bring!
VETERAN'S DAY
The Veteran's Day Assembly will be on Wednesday, November 6th at 2:00 pm in the Gilson Gym. Our 3rd, 4th & 5th grade students will be attending. The public and Veterans are welcome to join!
Students: Wear Red, White & Blue!
In observance of Veteran's Day, there will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, November 11th.
PICTURE RETAKE DAY
Picture Retake Day is planned for Monday, November 18th!
If you want retakes for your child, he/she must bring the picture packet that was sent home back to school on the 18th to give to the photographer. Students who were absent on picture day will have their pictures taken.
Order forms will be sent the week prior.
What are Title 1 Schoolwide and Learning Assistance Programs (LAP)?
We strive to meet the needs of all students at Ritzville Grade School. Title 1 is a federal program and LAP is a state funded program. Both programs assist students in meeting the state’s high standards in reading and math. In our schoolwide program, we combine Title 1 and LAP funds to allow us to serve ALL of our K-5 students. Across grade levels, we pull students out for additional support, teach in small groups, and/or push in to classrooms to help students. The Title 1 and LAP programs allow us to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all of our learners.
If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Boness at jboness@lrschools.org or Carol Ewing at cewing@lrschools.org.
A BIG THANK YOU to the volunteers who made our Fall Festival possible with their time and talents!
The effort of planning, setting up, executing, and cleaning up is much appreciated!
