FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Wishing you all a blessed Triduum, happy Easter, and restful April break! Over the past several weeks of Lent, our school community has been preparing well for the coming of Easter this Sunday. Our Lenten practices, which included weekly Stations of the Cross, regular Mass attendance, confessions, and more, culminated today with the presentation of the Living Stations of the Cross by our middle school students. It was a solemn and beautiful reminder of the love of God! See below for photographs from the event.
As we enter the Triduum together, and look ahead to a week away, I will leave you with the beautiful words of Pope St. John Paul II. Though delivered in a midday Angelus reflection in November of 1986, his words seem particularly fitting for this Easter season. He reminds us of the following:
"We do not pretend that life is all beauty. We are aware of darkness and pain. But we know Jesus has conquered sin and passed through his own pain to the glory of the Resurrection. And we live in the light of his Paschal Mystery – the mystery of his Death and Resurrection. We are an Easter People and Alleluia is our song! We are not looking for a shallow joy but rather a joy that comes from faith..."
May this upcoming Easter be one filled with joy for you and your family, and may this time away provide an opportunity for rest and relaxation.
As always, please be assured of my prayers for you and your families.
God bless and go Saints!
Sincerely,
Mr. Peloquin
