Principal's Corner
Dear Students, Parents, and Staff,
Welcome back to another exciting school year at our Middle School Campus, “The Heart of the District”! I hope you all had a wonderful summer and are as eager as I am to dive into this new chapter of our academic journey.
As we step into this year, let us remember our mission: "The Heart of the District" is dedicated to fostering an educational and respectful environment by providing rigorous and inspirational programs. Our goal is to prepare adolescents for the challenges and choices that lie ahead, nurturing them into motivated, self-directed learners.
Together, we will work to create a supportive atmosphere where every student feels valued and inspired to reach their full potential. Let's make this year one of growth, discovery, and achievement. I look forward to seeing all the amazing things we will accomplish together.
Warmest regards,
John Egresits
Campus Principal
ParentSquare
As you know, the Whitesboro Central School District will be utilizing a new communication tool called ParentSquare. This platform is designed to streamline our communication and keep you more connected with your child’s educational journey.
ParentSquare will allow us to share important updates, school announcements, and event information in real-time. It will also enable you to easily communicate with teachers and engage with our school community.
We have implemented ParentSquare as our primary tool for managing school attendance. This change will help us streamline our attendance process and improve communication between school and home.
Here’s what you need to know:
Daily Attendance: You will be able to report absences, tardies, or early dismissals directly through ParentSquare. This will ensure that all attendance records are accurate and up-to-date.
Notifications: You will receive notifications if your child is marked absent or if there are any issues with attendance. This will help you stay informed and address any concerns promptly.
Easy Access: ParentSquare is accessible via web and mobile app, making it convenient for you to manage and monitor your child’s attendance from anywhere.
We believe ParentSquare will enhance our communication and strengthen our partnership in supporting your child’s education. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
The Social Media Warning Label is for the Parents
Before assuming that a life on screens and social media is unavoidable, consider what our children are being robbed of with every hour they spend on their screens. Our children only get one childhood. They deserve better. Rather than apologizing for social media, we need the courage to shield our children from its pernicious effects. Our first fundraising initiative this year are the SaveAround discount savings books. The SaveAround booklets offers a fantastic selection coupons that can save you money at many of your favorite local businesses.
What’s in it for you?
- Great Savings: The SaveAround books are packed with valuable coupons for restaurants, retail stores, and more.
- Support Our School: Proceeds from each book sold will go directly to supporting student activities and field trips.
How You Can Help:
- Purchase a Book: Each Save Around book is priced at $25. It’s a small investment that will save you money and help our school!

Summer Reading Challenge Winners
Over the month of July the High Dosage Instructional Summer Program took part in a reading challenge. Using our Middle School Renaissance platform, the students rose to the occasion and expanded their knowledge on many topics through an online library of resources. Not only did they read, they answered various comprehension questions after each text was completed. The three top readers were awarded with Amazon Fire Tablets to recognize their accomplishments and the time they spent reading during their summer. Collectively, they read over 735 minutes in the month of July! We are so proud of our readers.
