Lewis & Clark Career Center Shines: Students Excel at SkillsUSA Competition
The City of St. Charles School District student Ethan Holmes was awarded a 2nd place medal after the recent completion of the SkillsUSA Eastern Missouri District competition.
Overall, 112 Lewis & Clark students competed in over 25 different district-level competitions, with 11 Lewis & Clark students earning a first place, gold-medal. Students competed in a variety of technical, hands-on, written, and oral competitions that related directly to their program of study at Lewis & Clark. Many of the medal winners will compete again against district winners from around the state at the SkillsUSA Missouri State Leadership and Skills Conference in Linn, Missouri from April 4-6.
“What an amazing couple of days of competition! We are extremely proud of our students!” said Martin Hanley, director of Lewis & Clark Career Center. “Their work ethic and perseverance was evident in every aspect of the competitions. The results are a reflection of the daily hard work and dedication from both staff and students .”
Students who place first or second are automatically eligible to compete at the state competitions. In some competitions, third place also qualifies for state. More than a dozen state competitors qualified to compete based on their performance on a nationally-normed industry assessment in their area along with a strong recommendation from their Lewis & Clark instructor.
SkillsUSA describes their organization as a “partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. We provide educational programs, events and competitions that support career and technical education (CTE) in the nation’s classrooms.” Specific information about each competition area can be found at SkillsUSA.org.
The Lewis & Clark Career Center provides career and technical education for St. Charles County juniors and seniors from all five school districts in St. Charles County. For more information, visit lewisclarkcc.org.
Lincoln Elementary Attends National ESEA Conference
Last week, Lincoln teachers/staff & members of the Central Office team traveled to the beautiful Portland, Oregon for the National ESEA Conference. Back in November 2023, Lincoln Elementary was honored as a National ESEA Distinguished School by the National Association of ESEA State Program Administrators. At this conference, Lincoln Elementary was celebrated for its excellence in education as a top performing Title 1 school. Members of this trip were able to hear keynotes from other amazing educators, attended the President's reception, & explored Portland.
One big takeaway for Lincoln first grade teacher, Ashton Sullivan, was #OneGoodThing. During the National Teacher of the Year's Keynote, Ashton was inspired to find the good in each day. When she began searching for it, she was surprised to find out just how much goodness was in her day! She now has her students find & share their #OneGoodThing each day. She also shares these with families via her classroom Instagram. This keynote aligns well with Lincoln's philosophy as a community that we belong to each other. All year, Lincoln teachers have been noting & sharing the good in each day!
This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our amazing students, talented educators, supportive parents, & community. We are so honored & proud! We will continue to soar high together as we strive for excellence in education. Go light the world & go Lincoln Lions!

Celebrating Hardin Tigers' Achievement
We're thrilled to announce that over 50% of Hardin students qualified for the first semester incentive field trip, and what a blast it was at Main Event on February 6th!
More than 300 enthusiastic students seized the opportunity to spend the day indulging in laser tag, bowling, and enjoying delicious pizza, all while making unforgettable memories with friends.
To qualify for this exciting adventure, students had to meet specific criteria: at least 90% attendance, no office referrals, and no Ds or Fs for the first semester. The dedication and commitment shown by our Hardin Tigers are truly commendable!
Congratulations to all our students who qualified for this incentive trip. Your hard work and positive behavior haven't gone unnoticed, and we couldn't be prouder of each and every one of you.
Here's to many more achievements and memorable experiences ahead for our amazing Hardin Tigers!

Celebrating Our 4th Grade Stars at Lincoln Elementary
What an incredible showcase of talent and dedication from our 4th graders at Lincoln Elementary! This year, they wowed us with an unforgettable wax museum event, highlighting their knowledge of The American Revolution.
Our students embarked on a journey of discovery as they delved into the lives of important historical figures, researched extensively, and crafted informative speeches. With creativity and passion, they brought these characters to life, donning costumes and captivating the audience with their knowledge and charisma.
In the library, students and teachers gathered to witness history unfold before their eyes, engaging with our 4th graders and learning from their impressive presentations.
To our amazing 4th grade class: you've truly outdone yourselves! Your hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm have left us in awe. We couldn't be prouder of the way you brought The American Revolution to life.
Congratulations on a job well done, 4th grade! Keep shining bright!
