Central Mountain High School
Keystone Central School District
Message From the Principal
As the final weeks of the school year unfold, energy fills the halls of Central Mountain High School. It's a unique blend of anticipation for summer break and focused determination as our students gear up for crucial academic milestones. This year, I've been particularly pleased by the collective effort of our students and staff to ensure a strong finish, both academically and in terms of our school climate.
The hum of preparation for Advanced Placement (AP) exams and the Pennsylvania Keystone Exams is now a constant backdrop. In classrooms, dedicated teachers are providing targeted review sessions, offering extra support, and instilling confidence in our students. These rigorous assessments represent the culmination of a year's hard work, and I commend our students for their commitment to excelling.
Beyond academics, I am incredibly proud of the positive shift we've witnessed in our school culture this year. Our school-wide implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) has fostered a more respectful and supportive environment. The data speaks for itself, with a significant decrease in discipline referrals throughout the year. This positive trend will culminate in a well-deserved PBIS carnival. As the calendar inches closer to graduation, our thoughts also turn to the remarkable Class of 2025. These young men and women stand on the cusp of exciting new chapters. Many are preparing to embark on their post-secondary education journeys at colleges and universities across the nation, eager to pursue their passions and contribute their talents to the world. Others have made the courageous decision to serve our country through military enlistment, demonstrating a profound commitment to duty and sacrifice. Still others are ready to enter the workforce, armed with the skills and knowledge gained here at Central Mountain High School.
To our graduating seniors, I want to express my deepest admiration and pride. You have navigated the challenges of high school with resilience, creativity, and a spirit of perseverance. You have left a mark on Central Mountain High School, and we are confident that you will continue to achieve great things in your future endeavors. Remember the lessons you've learned here, the friendships you've forged, and the values that have shaped you. You are ready for this next step, and we will be cheering you on every step of the way.
As we move into these final weeks, let us all continue to support one another. To our underclassmen, use this time to finish strong, learn from your experiences, and set ambitious goals for the year ahead. To our teachers and staff, your dedication and unwavering support are the foundation of our students' success. And to our graduating seniors, embrace the excitement of what lies ahead while cherishing the memories you've made here. The end of the school year is not just a closing, but a launching pad for the bright futures that await each and every one of our students.

Attendance
ATTENDANCE MATTERS
We're so excited to have our schools filled with students and teachers where we can all grow and learn together!
There is so much awesomeness that can be achieved when we're present at school. If something is getting in the way of your student coming to school, please reach out to your student's teacher, school counselor, district social worker, or school nurse. We want to make sure that your student is receiving whatever supports necessary to help them be successful.
REMNDER: As we start a new school year, excuses need to be turned in within 3 days of an absence. Use your school's attendance email to make sure that the excuse notes get turned in on time.

Counseling Connection
SAP
If you are concerned about a student for any reason, you can make a SAP referral. The SAP referral can potentially lead to any needed services and/or supports the student may need to be successful.

Student Services
A counselor is someone to talk to, who will listen without judgment. A school counselor can assist in short-term counseling and if needed arrange long-term counseling and the SAP (Student Assistance Program) and Tier II support. Counselors can teach students tools to improve and cope with different situations, especially because sometimes it's hard to figure out where to start. Students may be want to see a counselor for the following reasons:
Want to share an experience/feelings
- Feel depressed and/or lonely
- Have thoughts of self-harm
- Feel stressed and/or anxious
- Feel angry and/or frustrated
- Want to improve grade(s)
- Talk about college/careers
- Relationship/peer issues/conflicts
- Personal issues (divorce/separation, loss of a loved one, etc.)
To learn more or to schedule a meeting, please contact your student's school counselor.
