5K Resurrection Run

THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the 5K Resurrection Run and Mile Fun Run! It was a beautiful morning to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Butterfly Cycle

Mrs. Snow's PreK-4 class has been studying the life cycle of butterflies. On Monday they released two of them and they are taking care of one, Lightening McQueen, until he is ready to fly!

A Sea of Chicken

Is that Mrs. Candase surrounded by a sea of Zaxby's chicken? Monday's hot lunches are a popular item! Once meals are delivered to the Beech campus, Mrs. Candase and her team sort and label lunches so that students receive their meal on time. This includes transporting upper school meals to the DC campus. It's a lot of work each day! Thank you to everyone who pitches in to help!

Serving at DC Student Center

Juniors and Seniors took a couple of hours on Wednesday to help the DC church staff set up and clean for their opening night in the newly renovated student center. This not only helped the church, but also gave these students an opportunity for a sneak peek at the building we will be moving to.

Christian Comedian

Gordon Douglas, a Christian comedian, was the entertainment and message bringer for Thursday's upper school chapel. Mr. Douglas engaged the students right away cracking jokes and telling funny stories. In his own entertaining way, he also delivered a powerful message for students on God's truth and sharing with others. Mr. Douglas was in town as a speaker for First Source for Women to help bring awareness to their outreach and ministry in our community.

Serving Others

Congratulations to Jayden Garnett, Rotary Service Above Self Award Recipient!

Jayden has accrued over 150 volunteer hours, works a part time job after school, takes two college classes, and is a full-time student at CCS. She was recognized by the Cullman Rotary Club on Thursday at a special luncheon.

Preparing for Test Time

Lower school students have been getting ready for standardized test time. They are learning what the test day will be like and getting in some extra practice on bubbling. These first graders were working together in their math groups to prepare.

State Archery Tournament

Congratulations to our Top 16 archers on the CCS archery team who competed at the state tournament! Great job by all!

We believe in the power of prayer!

Each Tuesday morning parents are invited to join together in prayer.

As students dismiss to class for the day, parents may gather together in the area behind the gym to pray for our students, faculty, and staff.

Upper elementary students will be performing on Friday, April 26th in the musical, "God Squad." God Squad is full of lessons on the full Armor of God, with lyrics that will instill, deep in the hearts of kids, the meaning and profound truth of Ephesians 6:10-17.

A CELEBRATION OF THE ARTS

The upper school chorus, art and drama students are working toward their end of year performance.

We will have "A Celebration of the Arts" on Friday, May 3 at 6:00 p.m.

Please go ahead and mark your calendar! We will have a gallery of art, the chorus will perform and the drama students will present the parables of Jesus in shadow skit.

Sports Physicals

All athletes in grades 7-12 (current 6-11) must have an up-to-date physical to participate in AHSAA athletics.

We will have a special opportunity for students to take care of this task on Friday, May 3rd beginning at 2:45 pm. The cost will be $20.

Spring Formal

Spring Formal will be on Friday, April 12th.

This event is for students in grades 9-12. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased from Mrs. Yearwood.

Standardized Test Week (K-6)

Students in Kindergarten through 6th grade will be taking the Iowa Assessment and the CogAT during the week of April 22-26.

ACT Testing for Upper School

Students in grades 7-11 will be testing on Tuesday, April 9th. Grades 7, 8, and 9 will take the PreACT. (Learn more about PreACT HERE.) Students in grades 10 and 11 will be taking The ACT. Both of these assessments are used to help students as they plan for college and future careers.

2024 SPECIAL* Summer Driver's Education Opportunity with Cullman County Schools

Participating students must be at least 15 years old with a valid driving permit.
*West Point is offering special pricing for CCS students! Our students can take the class for the same price as their students, $150. If you participate, PLEASE be sure to thank them for this discount! ($200-Any Other School District/Private School/Homeschool)

Did you know that every Tuesday at the upper school and ever Thursday in the lower school is Hymn Day? Every day at devotion students sing a praise and worship song, but on these days we sing some of our most favorite classic hymns.
