Hispanic Heritage Month

Let's not think of this month as a busy time for folklórico groups and mariachis. We want to remember this month to reflect on the struggles people made to have a place to call their own. We may not be in Mexico, but we want to honor our ancestors and the culture we pay tribute to every time we take the stage.

THANK YOU to Naomi Meza, Griselda Garza, Fany Rojas, Esmeralda Hernandez, Sandra Teakell, Valeria Torres and Cheniqua Alanis for helping to put this wonderful picnic together for the group! The weather was perfect JUST for this event it seemed! It was lots of fun! There was lots of food!

A special Shout-Out to our Valientes de Alegre, who did a lot of the heavy lifting, all of the grilling and clean up!

We have several great prizes ready to be won. Tickets are $10 each. The expectation is for each dancer to sell a minimum of 10 tickets. Our goal is to sell 2000 tickets! WE HAVE LOTS OF TICKETS TO SELL! Please go to your class Coordinators with questions.

Pedro is also available to hand out more tickets if your class coordinator is not available.

The raffle drawing will be on Saturday, September 14th, at 2:30 pm. We will do the drawing through Facebook Live. The people with the winning tickets do not need to be in attendance.

The class that sells the most tickets will have their photo placed on the program in November.

The top 3 dancers with the most ticket sales will also receive prizes.

1st Place - Their photo on the front of the November program and a free semester in the Spring.

2nd Place - 2 free tickets for the performance in November

3rd Place - A Mexican Artisan Candle

Remember the funds raised go to help the group with expenses, including the group picnic and end of year dinner.

We asked your thoughts after the last Show and Recital. A couple of things that were brought up in every class was the waiting before the doors open, people holding spots in line and holding multiple seats once inside.

We have found a solution.

The recital on November 9th and the Show on November 23rd will be reserved seating. All guests will be able to purchase their tickets online and select their seat in the theater. Seats will be sold on a first come first served basis. The seat you select will be the seat you get on the day of the performance.

* Tickets for the Children/Infantil Recital on November 9th will be available for purchase on Monday, September 30th at noon.

* Tickets for the Junior/Adult Show on November 23rd will be available for purchase on Monday, September 9th at noon.

No tickets will be available at the studio.

No tickets will be held for dancers and their families by Pedro.

Once a show sells out there will not be additional seats.

We hope this will be a much better option for everyone that we can continue to do in the future.

Make sure to stay current on your payments.

Just a reminder...

There is a dress code for practice.

There is a way for the girls and ladies to wear your hair.

There are supplies you should have every time you come to practice.

Refresh your memory by reading the rules again if necessary. These rules are in place for everyone to maximize your full potential on stage, and to help instructors see everyone equally.

Be sure to get to know your class coordinators! They are here to keep you informed and answer questions. They will be helping in different aspects.
