May at a Glance
It is hard to believe that June is here and the 2024-2025 school year is quickly winding down. It is going to be a super busy final month, as we celebrate with a number of special events and activities including, awards nights, passing of the torch and of course finishing up with our most special celebration, graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2025.
We are very proud of our students and staff at JP II, who utilized their God given strengths and talents to learn, grow, educate and serve to the best of their abilities in all aspects of our school community during the 2024-2025 school year. Once again this year we had students produce outstanding achievements in academics, athletics, fine arts, and contribute to community service and social justice projects.
As this year closes, we wish our Class of 2025 all the best in their future endeavours and thank them for their contributions to our school community during the time they attended JP II. We extend prayers and well wishes to all students, families and staff that are leaving us at the end of this school year. A shout out to Miss Santiago, Miss Bast and Mr. Cook for sharing your strengths and talents with students and staff at JP II.
We express our heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Bingham, Mrs. Foulston, Mrs. Bradley and Mrs. Benoit. We want to take a moment to thank them — not just for their years of service, but for the heart, wisdom, and dedication they brought to our school community. May their retirement be filled with happiness, adventure, and time to enjoy the things they love most.
God bless you all and have a wonderful summer.

Chaplaincy
Father Greg
As we come to the close of another school year, our staff find themselves filled with both pride and a quiet sadness. Watching our Grade 12 students prepare to graduate is an incredible joy. We’ve seen them grow from unsure young teens into confident young adults, rooted more deeply in their identity and, we pray, in their faith. Walking with them — through school Masses, confessions, prayer, and countless conversations — has been one of the greatest privileges of our school of faith.
Our traditional Catholic practices have not been mere rituals; they are the unwavering compass that points us toward Christ. In a world full of noise and confusion, the rhythm of the Rosary, the peace of Eucharistic Adoration, the grace of Confession, and the unchanging truth of the Mass remind us who we are: beloved children of God.
To our graduates — carry this foundation with you. Let it guide your decisions, shape your relationships, and strengthen you when life is uncertain. And to all our students: never stop seeking Christ. He walks with you.
Our last School Mass will be on Thursday, June 12th starting at 10:30 in our Gym. Please feel free to attend.
May your summer be blessed with family, friends, relaxation and joy.
Social Justice League
A big thank you to the staff advisors that helped organize, drive and encourage our students. Congratulations to our students for the incredible devotion and passion they had for Social Justice issues throughout the academic year, and we hope to again have an active group in the 2025-2026 year. Have a restful and enjoyable summer!

U of S tour for those attending fall 2025:
The guidance department is looking forward to its annual trip to the U of S campus on June 4.
With many of our graduates entering the U of S in the fall we take the day to help prepare these future U of S students by touring the campus in the morning followed by college specific advising sessions in the afternoon.
Graduates:
Canada/Saskatchewan Student Loan applications will be available in June.

Returning JPII students:
For those who have not yet had an opportunity to meet with Mrs. Fransoo in regard to post-secondary plans, please feel free to book an appointment before the end of the year. Get your questions answered!
Additionally, if you need help determining what classes you need for next year, please do not hesitate to see Mrs. Fransoo to help make your course selections.
Grade 11s – please note for September 2024: Many technical institute programs have a first qualified, first admitted application. These programs often have wait lists, so by applying early in September, you increase your chances of getting into your desired program. Be prepared early in the fall to submit an application if you are intending to enroll into any of these programs.
Braided Journeys
Mr. Jean Fauchon
As we near the completion of the school year, a reminder to all students that the Braided Journeys Room is open for you to come and do homework, get help with homework, or discuss future classes. Good luck in your final few weeks and on your final exams. Have a safe summer and hope to see everyone back next fall.
On June 6, there is a recruiter from the Regina Police Department coming into the Braided Journeys Room to do a lunch and learn, so if you would like free pizza and learn a little bit about the Regina Police Department, sign up in the Braided Journeys Room by June 5 at noon.
Braided Journeys would like to thank all students and staff who participated in honoring and raising awareness of MMIWG2S Day (May 5) and Moose Hide Campaign Day (May 15).
We would also like to thank Kanewemik for putting on another wonderful Culture Camp for our students and Kesley Redding and NBCHS for hosting the event this year. We look forward to hosting it again next year.
As well, a big thank you to the Battlefords Agricultural Society for hosting a conference for our students and to Red Pheasant First Nation for providing tickets for our students and staff to attend their conference at the Access Communications Center.
As always, a huge thank you to BATC, which every year gives us a generous grant so that we can host cultural events and provide for our students.
