Final Exam Information
Final exams for the first semester are mandatory for all students in grades 9–12 and will count for 10% of the semester grade. Please remember that courses are not considered complete until the final exam has been completed. If your student is unable to attend final exams on December 19 and 20, pre-arranged absences must be submitted by parents/guardians to the office by Friday, December 6. Absence requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the administration.
Final exams will follow this schedule:
Thursday, December 19:
Periods: 2, 4, 6, and 8
Friday, December 20:
Periods: 1, 5, and 7
One final note, campus will be open during finals. Students who do not have a scheduled final will be able to leave and return as appropriate. However, it is essential that students arrive on time for their scheduled exams, as late arrivals will not be granted additional time. Students who elect not to leave campus will report to the commons until their next scheduled exam.
Thank you for your attention to these important dates and requirements as we approach the end of the semester. If you have any questions regarding final exams, please contact the KHS office at 309-289-2324.

FAFSA OPENS DECEMBER 1st
Thank you to the families who attended our College 101 night on November 19th. If your student plans to attend college; I strongly encourage them to apply for their FSA ID if they have not already done so. They will need to have this step completed prior to being able to complete the FAFSA. Completing the FAFSA is necessary for schools to determine your financial need and for you to be awarded any type of federal aid or loans. Additionally, completing the FAFSA is a graduation requirement; even for those not planning to attend college. Sage Lundquist, our local ISAC representative, has offered to meet with families one on one who may want help completing the FAFSA. Her available dates are January 6th, 7th, and 10th. You can sign up through the link below. I will also attach two helpful documents that were shared at the College 101 night.
Book time with Lundquist, Sage B.:
