Recess and Winter Clothing Reminder
Students are expected to be dressed appropriately to go outside every day. This includes hats,
gloves, boots, snow pants, and winter coats when appropriate. If your child is not wearing boots and snow pants, he/she must remain on the shoveled blacktop area. All students are responsible for putting on and fastening their own hats, coats, boots/shoes, snow pants, etc. Please keep this in mind when purchasing winter clothing and have your child practice at home.
Students will stay indoors if the temperature, actual or wind chill, measured at school, is less than
10 degrees or it is raining. Students may remain inside with a doctor’s excuse for either long or
short-term medical conditions.
All children are required to go outside for recess unless they have a written excuse. Students who
are to be excused from physical education class or who are to stay indoors for recess due to
health/medical reasons must have a note from their parent/guardian stating the reason and date.
Students who need to be excused from PE or recess for more than three consecutive days must have a doctor’s note.

Holiday Shop Event
On December 12th & 13th, the Eastview PTO will be hosting a Holiday Shop at the school. The Holiday Shop will give your child the opportunity to purchase gifts for their family members this holiday season. All items for purchase will range from 25¢ to $15. Students love having the opportunity to shop for their family members while also getting a hands-on lesson on budgeting. This is not a fundraising event. It is strictly a fun event that we hope will help promote the gift of giving. Flyers will go home with Students after Thanksgiving.
Holiday Shop Volunteers Needed
The PTO is looking for parent volunteers to help run the holiday shop. This is a great way to teach our kids the gift of giving! If you would like to help out, please review the available slots and click on the button to sign up. Click here to sign up. Due to safety concerns, we cannot accomodate younger children while volunteering. Thank you!

EVERYDAY REMINDERS
How to Notify the Office When Your Student will be Absent
In the event your child will be absent, please email attendance.eastview@D300.org or call 847.532.7420 to report the absence. To ensure timely notification of your student's absence, it is important that you use this email address and/or phone number as the primary way to report absences. This will help eliminate any missed information in the event a teacher or staff member is out of the building. If your student will be absent for more than two days, please complete a Pre-Arranged Absence Form, and drop it off or email it to the office. Students that are missing school for a doctor or dentist appointment, or for therapy, should provide a note from the doctor/therapist when they return to school.
