I am pleased to say our On-the-Job Training (OJT) course is off to a fantastic start this year. I am incredibly grateful for our local business's generosity of time and support in making this program a success. Their willingness to work with and train our students is invaluable. OJT provides students with a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and get a head start on their future careers.

For students interested in participating in the OJT courses, they must first speak with their guidance counselor to discuss eligibility. Following this, they need to secure a job (get hired), and then meet with me, Mrs. Dewey, to complete the necessary requirements and paperwork.

I look forward to continuing our local collaborations throughout this school year and beyond. Thank you once again to all those wonderful follks we work with, for your dedication and support of Sumter Schools.

-PSAT for all 10th grade students and select 9 and 11th graders will be held Tuesday, October 15th. (ALL laptops will need to be charged the night before!)

-SAT-NR will be given to seniors who need to meet graduation requirements will also be held on Tuesday, October 15th. (ALL laptops will need to be charged the night before!)

-ASVAB - The ASVAB test will be given at SSHS on October 28th. Students will be emailed a registration link.

-SAT & ACT:

SAT test- November 2, 2024 (deadline to register is October 18, 2024)

ACT test - December 14, 2024 (deadline to register is November 8, 2024) CLT test – November 7, 2024 (deadline to register is October 10, 2024) *See your counselor for more information or for fee waivers (if eligible)*

We are excited to have the Orlando Shakespeare Theater come to present the play, Macbeth, to our students!
