DCA Weekly Update

Happy Friday!

We have one more week before Winter Break! The holiday season can be a joyous time and for some a difficult time. Please take time to connect with loved ones, rest, relax, and plan some fun. Students will not have any work to do over the break unless they are behind.

If students have overdue work, the Winter Break can serve as a great time to catch up. I encourage you to make a plan for late work and stick to it. If you submit any work over the break, be sure to EMAIL YOUR TEACHER(S). They will not know you submitted work unless you inform them.

Let's make next week the most productive week of the year!

We aim for 100% of our DCA students to complete all of their assignments during the week of 12/16-12/20!

I believe we can do it!

• Agree that online courses can be more challenging than face-to-face classes.

• Be comfortable in a "virtual environment" - email, sending attachments, online discussions, etc.

• Not be afraid to try new things.

All DCA students are considered students in their home buildings even if they are full-time DCA. Please check your child's school below for upcoming events and activities in which they can participate!

We are partnering with the Brandywine Virtual Academy (BVA) within the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) to provide instruction and teachers for students in grades K-6 who wish to learn online. Students will follow the school year calendars provided by the BVA.

• Virtual Voyagers hosts monthly events where students converse, connect, collaborate, and create. Virtual event themes include family & community events, special guests, game days, specials activities (art, music, movement), and STEM opportunities.
