As we enter our first full month of school this year, I am so excited about things that I am seeing and able to be a part of. This week our staff had two full days where grade levels cycled through meetings with our support staff to review our current literacy and math data. Teams talked about ways to intentionally plan supports for all students. Some students were identified to receive interventions which will begin in late September. Letters will be forthcoming for those students. It was a great team approach to support all of our students.
As I am on the playground during lunch recess I see so much enjoyment and teamwork. Even today a fellow lunchroom supervisor stated, "It is great to see them have so much fun!" I agree and hope that the year is off to a wonderful start for your son or daughter. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and next week we will have information regarding our annual fundraiser, the Run-a-Thon. Monday we will have our kick-off assembly.
From the Nurse
Kick-A-Thon
The annual Kick-A-Thon will be October 4th at St. Charles East High School. Each school in District 303 has been raising money to help fight cancer. I want to thank all parents and students who have already donated to this great cause. Our ‘Lincoln Leopard” school banner, which will be featured on the night of the event, already has many signatures of students. We will also raise monies through a fun incentive of wearing fun socks, for “stomping out cancer” or wearing a hat to school for “hats off to cancer survivors” Students and parents can continue to give up to September 30th. If your son or daughter is interested in joining that evening to kick and or hold the banner please email us michelle.woodring@d303.org. All donations can be turned into the main office.
