Opt-In to the LISD Inter-Library Loan (ILL) System
What: LISD librarians utilize the inter-library (ILL) system to procure additional copies of books for students or resources HMS may not have.
Why: Different libraries have different materials. The ILL system is a way for librarians to "share the wealth" with all LISD students!
How: Parents/guardians must now opt IN if they WANT their students to have access to higher grade level books.
Action Item For PARENTS to Complete:
If you have a HMS student that you know is reading above grade level and you want them to have access to high school materials, please fill out the form listed below. This will slow the wait time down when your student wants to check out books from high school libraries in the future. Parents need only fill out the form once - that will grant your student access for the entire school year. Form Here

Order Your 2024-2025 HMS Yearbook
Cheer & Dance Game Day Meals
Attention Cheer and Black Diamond Parents:
Football Game Day Meals are now available to order for HMS Cheerleaders and Black Diamonds.
Please follow the instructions from the form that was sent out by Coaches.
The deadline to order meals is Thursday August 29th!
Item Drop off Procedures
We are asking parents to limit drop-off items for students to forgotten articles necessary for the school day only. Items necessary for the school day include, but are not limited to, critical homework, computers, band instruments, or occasionally lunches. We will not be able to make regular deliveries to students. We do not allow drop-offs of gifts, treats, or surprises.
Student Checkout Procedures
Please be sure to bring proper identification and present it to the receptionist each time you pick up your student. Once we have verified your identity, we will send a pass for the student to meet you at the front office.
Please note:
- This process could take up to 15 minutes or more, depending on the time of day. Please be sure to allow extra time for delays should they occur.
- We cannot have your child waiting for you in the office prior to your arrival.
- Please arrive prior to 4:00 PM if you need to check your student out at the end of the day. Due to time constraints, we may not be able to get your student checked out and to the office prior to the 4:20PM bell if arriving after 4:00pm.
