NEWSLETTER | TERM 1 | WEEK 0 | 30 JANUARY 2025
Welcome to the 2025 school year! I hope you had a fantastic break, enjoyed quality time with family, and are feeling refreshed and excited for the year ahead. A warm welcome to all the new families joining our school community—we're thrilled to have you with us!
I would like to extend a warm welcome back to all our staff after their well-deserved break. Many have already been hard at work preparing for the new year, creating inspiring learning spaces and planning engaging programs. Your dedication is truly appreciated! A special welcome to our new staff, Mr Kadir Mastan (Assistant Principal), Ms Nicky Celinski (Pre-Kindergarten Teacher), Mrs Annette Doe (Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Education Assistant), Mrs Chelsea Lawrence (Kindergarten Education Assistant), Mrs Skye Sanders (Pre-Primary Teacher), Mrs Brooke Davison (Year Two Teacher) and Ms Jenna Newton (Physical Education Teacher). Telethon Speech and Hearing will continue working with us this year and I am pleased to welcome Mrs Debbie Nobel (Education Assistant) to join their team. Mrs Paula Alsford (Teacher of the Deaf) will be covering Mr Simon Tomlinson (Teacher of the Deaf) while he is on long service leave for Term One.
A Parent Calendar for parents and caregivers is available to ensure no important events are missed. Please make special note of the Staff Professional Development Days as the school will be closed on these days.
As announced at the end of last year, we are excited that Camp Australia will be operating a Vacation Care Program from St Elizabeth's starting in the Term One holidays for all students from Kindergarten to Year Six. Additionally, they will also operate care during all Pupil Free Days starting from Friday, April 11. The coordinator, that is currently facilitating our Before and After School Care, will continue in the role for Vacation Care and Pupil Free Days with additional support from other educators. This service will be trialled for 2025 to ensure that there is enough support from the school community before a longer agreement is finalised. More information will be provided to families once school begins.
The start of a new school year brings a whirlwind of emotions for many students—the excitement of the first day, meeting new people, making friends, and adjusting to new teachers. I look forward to welcoming back all students, parents, and guardians and hearing about their wonderful holiday experiences!
Enjoy the final weekend of holidays and I look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday, February 5 for the beginning of Term One.
God bless

Dear St Elizabeth’s Community
I am very excited to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal at St Elizabeth’s Catholic Primary School. My name is Kadir Mastan, and I feel incredibly privileged to join this wonderful community.
I come to St Elizabeth’s from Majella Catholic Primary School, bringing with me a diverse range of teaching and leadership experience gained across regional and metropolitan Western Australia, as well as internationally in the UK. These opportunities have shaped my perspective on education and strengthened my commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for every child.
On a personal note, I am a proud father to two young children, Frankie (5) and Angus (3), who bring endless joy and energy to my life. Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through sports—though my body sometimes reminds me to take it easy—and am a Fremantle Dockers supporter.
I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work with the staff, students and the broader community at St Elizabeth’s. I look forward to getting to know each of you and working together to nurture the growth and development of our students. Please say hello if you see me around the school grounds!
