Springman Middle School 2024 - 2025
Welcome to a new month... November!
November 1st, 2024
As we welcome November, we are excited to remind you that we have just two weeks left in our trimester! It’s hard to believe how quickly the time has flown by. We encourage everyone to continue supporting our students in their learning as we approach the finish line.
We also have some fantastic news to share: our school has achieved back-to-back exemplary status on our report card designation! This accomplishment reflects the hard work of our dedicated staff, the resilience of our students, and, most importantly, the unwavering support from all of you. Thank you for being such an integral part of our school community.
Let’s finish this trimester strong and continue to work together to provide the best for our students.
Each October, the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) issues "Summative Designations" for every public school in the state as part of the Illinois Report Card. Designation categories are: Exemplary, Commendable, Targeted, Comprehensive, and Intensive. ISBE determines these designations through a detailed process involving categories such as academic metrics, attendance rates, and participation rates in the annual 5Essentials survey (be sure to participate when it opens again this year!).
We are proud to share that all our schools have achieved either exemplary or commendable designations, a testament to our dedication to providing high-quality education and meeting our students’ needs.
This year, ISBE awarded D34 schools the following top designations:
Exemplary Schools: Westbrook, Glen Grove, and Springman (BACK-TO-BACK)
Commendable Schools: Henking, Lyon, Hoffman, Pleasant Ridge, and Attea
We are proud of all we have accomplished together and also have a strong focus on ways to continue to help our students grow. District administrators will take a deeper into the data at the November 18 Board of Education meeting.
Check out District 34 and each of our schools on the report card.

Student iPad Use + Expectations
We wanted to take a moment to remind you about the expectations with emails and photos on your school iPad.
Your school iPad should be for school purposes only. Photos should only be taken for classwork or projects. Additionally, you should never be taking photos of students or staff without their knowledge or permission.
Your school email should also be used for school purposes only. Emails should only be sent to other students for homework, classwork, or other school related reasons. Students should not be using email to chat back and forth with other students.
Please take a moment to clean out your camera roll and emails for anything that isn't related to a school assignment.
Leaving Early?
No worries! We just ask that you call ahead to the attendance line (847-998-5020 ---> press 1) with date/time of needed dismissal. Students are required to stop by the main office to pick up their early dismissal pass/ensure the digital pass has been assigned and also to sign out at the time requested. No need to come into the building as our front office staff will monitor and dismiss students directly to parent/guardian.
