Anderson Elementary Update

Anderson Families,

We are so excited about the 24-25 school year! Students will be coming back to brand new tables, desks and chairs! Thanks to our wonderful maintenance department the building is looking great and we are eagerly awaiting the return of our students. Our Open House is on August 15 from 4:00-6:00. We plan to have a photo booth, families can visit classrooms/meet teachers and pick up car tags. Athletic Boosters, transportation and student savings program folks will also be here. We hope to see you all! This newsletter contains much important information, so please read carefully. See you all very soon!

Here are some very important times for Anderson Elementary:

• If you are changing your child's dismissal plans please call the office by 2:30.
• Students can enter the building at 7:45 a.m. Classroom instruction begins at 7:50 a.m.
• Students arriving between 7:50 and 8:05 a.m. will be counted tardy. If your child is late, please bring them into the building to sign them in.
• Our instructional day ends at 3:05 p.m. and dismissal starts at 3:10 p.m.
• We have a few half days scheduled. Instruction will end on half days at 11:30 a.m. with dismissal beginning at 11:35 a.m.

Here are some very important reminders for pick-up and drop-off. Please remember we put a lot of rules in place to keep children safe.

Arrival:

Students may be dropped off at Anderson no earlier than 7:30 a.m. When dropping off your child, please wait in Lane 1 ONLY and stop at the white line if all 4 cones by the school have cars parked at them.

Students should enter and exit from the driver’s side of the vehicle. PLEASE do not get out of your vehicle at any time during drop-off. You may want to have your child practice getting out of your vehicle on their own.
Move up to the cones in groups of 4 to drop off students
Please pull away from cones in groups of 4. Do not leave your cone until the vehicle in front of you leaves. Students dropped off will go right into the fenced area of the playground.

Dismissal:

Dismissal starts at 3:10 p.m. PLEASE DO NOT USE LANE 2 prior to 3:00 p.m. We need at least one lane open so that in the event of an emergency we are accessible. Please have your car tag displayed from your rear view mirror. Remember, you cannot pull away from the cones until the car in front of you pulls away. Please stay in your car and have your child enter your vehicle from the driver's side.

We only have one addition to Anderson Staff. I am very pleased to report that this year we will be sharing Leigh Parker, EL Teacher, with Ryan Elementary. We are excited to have her here working with our English Learners every afternoon.

Our first day of school is Monday August 19, 2024. It will be a full day of school. You are welcome to join us on the playground that morning, prior to students entering the building at 7:45 a.m. We do ask that you say goodbye to your child in the line as they walk into the building with their class. Family members are not permitted on the playground after the first day of school.

Our teachers will be using Seesaw to communicate with families. Please make sure that you sign up for a Seesaw account. Your child's teacher should be able to help you with this.
