Woodland CARES!
Dear Woodland Families,
Last Friday we celebrated out CARES in an assembly where all students learned a Brown Bear Greeting from Ms. Duquette's first graders and a CARES song from Mrs. Schindel's kindergarten students. Both classes did a wonderful job leading the whole school in this community event and we were very proud of them!
We also need to send a huge congratulations to Mrs. Giguere's kindergarten class for winning the CARES Trophy for being the Most Responsible Class! Teachers and staff said they did an amazing job all month returning classroom materials, helping others, taking ownership of their actions, and participating in class! Keep up the great work!
Keeping the excitement going, we had three classes already standing out for Exhibiting Effort, and those were Mrs. Abbe's kindergarten class, Ms. Conchieri's first grade class, and Ms. Giroux's second grade class. We will be focusing on working through tough tasks, staying focused, managing frustration, producing quality work, paying attention, and practicing. Feel free to encourage your children to "Exhibit Effort" when they complain that something is too hard or they don't want to practice! We're in this together!
Finally, cold and flu season is upon us. Please remember to stress proper handwashing skills with your student. Also, now is a great time to teach kids to blow their nose independently! Don't know how? Try taking a toilet paper roll and taping a piece of toilet paper to the end. Put the roll against your child's nose and have them "make the elephant move his trunk" by blowing air out of their nose! Don't let them cheat by blowing with their mouths though. (Teacher tip: practice when your child DOESN'T have a stuffy nose first or you may get an elephant that is a little messy!)
Warm regards,
Emma and Kayla

Clothes Needed
The Nurse’s Office is in need of gently used clothing, specifically boys, in size 7 and up to help students who may need a change of clothes during the school day. If your child has outgrown clothing in these sizes, we would greatly appreciate your donation!
We are looking for:
- Shirts
- Pants
- Shorts
Please ensure all items are clean and in good condition and only bring in a few items, we do not have room to store bins full of clothes. Donations can be dropped off directly at the Main Office during school hours.
This is also a good time to make sure that your child has a change of clothes in their backpack as accidents and spills may happen!
Thank you for your kindness and support in helping us care for our students!
