It is so hard to believe we are already done with our first nine weeks of school. Time really does fly when you're having fun. There are so many great things happening at Borrego. Afterschool tutoring has begun and so have our many clubs. Thank you to all the sponsors. Students are very excited to be able to participate in cheer squad, running club, volleyball, football, kindness club, chess club, book club, etc. We understand the importance of being a part of such meaningful groups to meet the needs of students beyond academics.

Thank you so much to the many families who continue to support the different activities here at school such as book of the month and volunteer orientation. It is so important to maintain a strong home/school connection. There is definitely more to come.

Parents, I am going to continue asking for your help with not pulling students out of class early. We have so much to teach students and when they are pulled out early, they miss out on instruction. This is a friendly reminder that school hours are Tuesday - Friday, 7:20-4:05.

Attendance Matters

It is very important that students attend school everyday. The law requires that students attend school 90% of the time. When a student is absent, please send a note within 48 hours, or the absence will be unexcused. Our campus goal is 97% daily attendance. Incentives will be offered by class, grade level, and by individual student. Please see chart below.

Although it is understandable that things happen, students must be in class ready to learn by 7:20 am. When a student is consistently absent and/or tardy, the matter will be addressed by administration. Research shows that when students are consistently absent or late to school, it negatively impacts student learning.
