Lunches

A reminder that all lunches, every week, need to be ordered through the Parent Portal account in the School Store if you plan on having school lunch. If you did not put in your order for this week, please pack a lunch for your child for this upcoming week.

Picture Days

Two picture days are needed to accommodate students in grades 2 through 6, due to cohort A and B assignments. Picture days are Tuesday, September 15 and Wednesday, September 16. Information regarding the purchase of picture packages is posted under the Electronic Backpack with instructions to order online.

Here is the schedule:


Tuesday, September 15

• Kaleidoscope preschool students will have their picture taken on Tuesday, September 15.

• Students in Mrs. Schacht’s kindergarten class and students in Ms. Dischinger’s first grade class will have their picture taken on Tuesday, September 15.

• Students in grades 2 – 6 in cohort A will have their picture taken on Tuesday, September 15.


Wednesday, September 16

• Students in Ms. Kasahara’s’s kindergarten class and students in Ms. Thomas’ first grade class will have their picture taken on Wednesday, September 16.


• Students in grades 2 – 6 in cohort B will have their picture taken on Wednesday, September 16.


Students in Distance Learning can come to Glen Lake on either Tuesday or Wednesday to have their picture taken between the hours of 12:45 pm – 2:45pm. Parents, with our Visitor Policy this year allowing only essential visits, we are asking that you wait outside of Door A as your child is taking his or her picture. A volunteer will come and greet you at the door and bring your child into the gym.

Material Distribution for families in the Royal Distance Learning Academy

This ONLY applies to families who are in the Royal Distance Learning Academy. Families will have the opportunity to come to Glen Lake to pick up materials for their distance learning, as well as return any materials back to the teacher. These will occur every 2 weeks, starting on Monday, September 21st. The time frame is 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, and 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Families can park their cars, enter the front foyer of Door A, and grab their child(rens) folders from the bins.


Please note that some families of Kids and Co students will be waiting for their child(ren) outside of Door A.


The remainder of the dates up until Winter Break are October 5, October 19, November 2, November 16, November 30, and December 8.

Arrival / Parent drop-off Procedure


  • Keep your child(ren) in the car until 8:40 am

  • Students should exit the car on the curbside for their safety and go to their assigned doors

    • Kindergarten and Thomas group A) - Door A

    • Gr. 1 and 2 (except Thomas group A) - Door I by the vegetable garden

    • Gr. 3 and 4 - Door J by the Media Center

    • Gr. 5 and 6 - Door G by the playground

  • Parents, please stay in your vehicle whenever possible. We are asking that parents use the drop-off line whenever possible. If you feel the need to walk your child to their assigned door, please park your vehicle and use the crosswalk.

  • We are allowing 7 cars at a time to let children out. If you are waiting BEFORE the crosswalk, please wait until cars move forward and you are in one of the seven spots before letting your child out.

  • Do not pull around and jump ahead of other cars who are waiting.

Dismissal / Parent Pick-up Procedure

  • Parent pick-up will begin at 3:15 pm

  • Parking in the interior of the front loop is reserved for KINDERGARTEN families only. This is called Kindergarten Island

  • If you do not have a Kindergarten student, please wait patiently in the pick-up line. Do not park your vehicle unless it is for an essential visit into the school.

  • Please have your name placard visible in your window!
