April 2024
🌻Hello Spring ☔
Spring is like a perhaps hand (which comes carefully out of Nowhere)
arranging a window, into which people look
(while people stare arranging and changing placing carefully
there a strange thing and a known thing here)
and changing everything carefully ...

Culturally Responsive Read Aloud Corner
When it comes to selecting books to share with youth/student learners, do you often consider poetry?
Poetry has a universal appeal and distinctive but diverse qualities. Many poems, with concise and melodic structures, provide a seamless way for learners to engage with language and different forms of expression. Through reciting simple nursery rhymes and/or brief poems, children absorb language effortlessly, often without realizing it. Reading poetry aloud offers opportunities for children to hone vocal skills, including volume, pitch, and voice modulation, among other aspects. Consider incorporating poetry into your classroom or home environments, while inviting in diversity of thought and different modes of expression.
- Read the text
- Engage in conversation about the book and explore interpretations
- Think about the connections between modes of expression and versatility of poetry
A quick and easy poetry learning prompt:
