EXPECTATIONS AND BEHAVIOR
Off Campus Behavior
If you are a freshman or have less than 6 credits you should not be leaving school grounds without being checked out by a parent.
Areas such as the park to the north of Horizon, 7-11 and King Soopers are all spaces that are shared by the community and where you as students are in the public eye. We should represent Horizon High School by showing Respect and Integrity when using these spaces. Respect and Integrity are core values of the P.R.I.D.E acronym.
Students, your safety is a top priority. We all share a role in keeping each other safe. Students are often the first to know when unsafe situations are arising. Please communicate safety concerns as soon as possible to any adult within our school.
Expectations at indoor games at Horizon
Basketball season is upon us. Remember as a spectator, you should be showing P.R.I.D.E at the games. Show your Integrity by Respecting the players, game officials and visitors. Student Code of Conduct applies at all school events, let's be champions on and off the court.
Huey's Home Goods
With the colder temperature and snow, Huey’s Home Goods now offers coats, boots, gloves and hats. And as always, we offer easy to heat foods, non perishable foods, and household items. Remind your student to Scan Huey’s home goods QR codes around the building to put in your order throughout the week. Pick up is after school on Wednesdays in room L-2210 next to the library.

DECA WENT TO DISTRICTS
On Tuesday, November 15, Horizon DECA took 60 Hawks to compete in District competition for a chance to move forward to compete in the State Career Development Conference at The Broadmoor. In the competition, called role play events, students are presented with a business scenario or case study that pertains specifically to their event. From Hospitality & Tourism to Sports & Entertainment Marketing, students have a chance to show off their unique business and marketing skills in a one-on-one business meeting with a judge who is a business professional with real world experience. From there, our Hawks continued into a nerve-wracking awards ceremony alongside six other schools in Colorado DECA’s District 13 (Thornton, Northglenn, Lakewood, Centaurus, Arvada West and Warren Tech North). Despite skilled competition, Horizon DECA had 19 proud State Career Development Conference qualifiers who will now move forward to compete and experience The Broadmoor this coming February. As we prepare for State competitions, we are very proud of all of our Hawks who had the courage and the skill to compete at this year’s District competitions. Way to go Hawks!
SEAL OF BILITERACY INFORMATION
GOT OVERDUE BOOKS?
As winter break quickly approaches, please make sure your student returns any overdue library materials they may have so those fines can be removed from your student’s account. This is a great time to have your student check their rooms, cars, and backpacks to ensure all library materials are turned in before we leave for break. Thank you so much for your support!
