Distance Learning information for the 2nd nine weeks.

Distance Learning option to continue; parents wishing to change options for 2nd nine weeks need to contact their respective schools between Sept. 17-28

While the overall goal is to return students to a traditional in-person setting, Rutherford County Schools will continue with a distance-learning option for students the second nine weeks.

If you plan to stay with the current option for your child, either traditional or distance-learning, no action is required. If you would like to change options for the second nine weeks, please notify your school(s) directly between Sept. 17-28. Please contact Christian Tibbs at tibbsc@rcschools.net if you plan to change.

The change will take effect on the first day of the second nine weeks, which occurs on Monday, October 12.

This decision only impacts the second nine weeks.

A timeline along with metrics to determine options for the second semester, which begins in January, will be discussed and developed in October / November. Parents will be kept informed.

Arrival Time

We appreciate everyone working with us to arrive later if you can (7:25-7:40am), but please remember that your child should be in the classroom before the 7:45 bell. If students are planning to eat breakfast at school, please drop them off no later than 7:30am for them to have time to eat and be in the classroom by 7:45am.

Water Bottles

If your child does not have their own water bottle, we would encourage you to send one each day. Please label it so we can get them back to students if they get lost. The plastic ones with good tops help us avoid spills. We will send those home daily for them to be washed.

Masks

The students have been doing a phenomenal job with their masks. Please wash those nightly or wear a clean one each day. I would also encourage you to find a way your child can keep it on them at all times (like with a lanyard) to avoid dropping it on the floor or misplacing it during a mask break.

Free Breakfast and Lunch

You should have received notification about all students being able to receive free breakfast and lunch through December. We want to encourage you to check the menus and talk with your child about eating. The a la carte items will still be charged to student accounts.

Reminder that there is a link for technical support on the Eagleville School Website for Distant Learners. Also, the technology department at the Central Office will be providing help with instructional technology support for parents of distance learners from 8 until 4:30 starting 9/11. The Central Office number is 615-893-5815. The extensions for tech support are 22197 and 22196.

Seniors will take the ACT on Tuesday, September 22nd at Eagleville. On the 22nd, seniors will be allowed to leave with a signed note from their parent/guardian.
