We are excited to invite you to our next Family Engagement Night on Thursday, January 16th, from 5:30-6:30 PM. This event will be a fun and informative evening focused on helping our children grow as readers and learners.

Here's what you can look forward to:

• Engaging Literacy Activities for Kids – Our students will enjoy hands-on activities that foster a love for reading and learning.
• Helpful Tips for Parents – You’ll receive valuable ideas and strategies for supporting your child’s literacy development at home.
• Raffle Prizes – We’ll be holding a raffle for both students and parents, with exciting prizes to be won!
• Take-Home Items – The Statewide Family Engagement program will be joining us to provide some wonderful resources for you and your child.

For January, we will continue to focus on students being at school daily or having their absence excused by a family member calling the school. This month, the winner of the class challenge will be the class with the most improvement from December.

This month, we are taking on the school challenge again to further encourage meeting our attendance goals. In December, eight classes improved their attendance. If 15 classes raise their percentage this month, all students will receive a special treat the first week in February.

The Manchester School District Preschool is taking names for the 2025-2026 school year. Registration is for those children turning 3 before September 30, 2025, and who live in a Title 1 school district. A very limited number of seats are also available for children turning 4 before September 30, 2025. We understand that as a parent, you may have specific concerns about your child's education and well-being. However, during student pickup, our teachers need to focus on ensuring a safe departure for all students with their families. We also respect the privacy of our students and their families, and therefore, we do not hold personal conversations about a student during this time. If you would like to speak with your child's teacher, please feel free to use one of the communication methods provided, and our teacher will respond to you as soon as possible. 8:30-Doors close and gates are locked. All students must enter the main office and are tardy. You will receive an automated call that your student was late for school.

Popcorn Day is back! Students can buy a bag of freshly popped popcorn for only 50 cents every Wednesday as a snack. Popcorn orders are taken during morning attendance, so students must arrive on time to place their orders. Each student is limited to two bags. Thank you to our new parent volunteers and Community Schools facilitator, Loren Robidas, for making this treat possible!

If you're interested in helping out with classroom preparation, supervising during lunch, or organizing games at recess, please contact Mrs. Wheeler at the office to participate. We appreciate any extra help!
