NMSHS PANTHER POST
May 3, 2024
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE - Mr. Goodrich
Dear Nederland Middle-Senior HS Families,
Last night I attended the Impact on Education Awards. Teachers throughout BVSD were honored as high performing representatives for their home schools. Nederland’s honoree was Nicole Chewens, our middle and high school level math teacher. Nicole has done an above and beyond job this school year. She has planned and taught 6 different math classes. She does this hard work with a smile and grace. Our Nederland families and students have benefited greatly from Nicole's perseverance, grit and skill. Congratulations to Nicole.
Master Schedule and Course Selection
In the past few days we have consulted with students and teachers regarding a few high school courses in the 24-25 master schedule. As a result we have made a few adjustments to meet the needs and wants of the students. Therefore there are a few changes that were made to the schedule selection sheets.
Once you have thought through and discussed everything with your parents, please use the following link to register for your classes. You may also go to the NMSHS website to register: choose '2024-2025 Course Selection' in the menu bar and then click your grade for the 2024-2025 school year. This will take you directly to the course selection form for your grade. Both parents and students need to digitally sign the Course Selection Form before submitting.
PLEASE NOTE: You may only make ONE submission, and it is final. Take care in your selections, changing them after the fact is a difficult process.
Course selection registration deadline is Friday, May 10th

ATHLETICS - Mr. DePaula
At this week’s Middle School and High School Award Ceremonies, we took the opportunity to recognize Nederland’s Multisport Athletes. As a small school, Nederland counts on our students to be involved in multiple activities. Without their help, we could not field the teams we do or be competitive. Thank you to all of our students for being involved!
In Middle School, we had 15 “3-Sport Athletes”, 5 “4-Sport Athletes”, 2 “5-Sport Athletes”, and 2 “6-Sport Athletes”. Special congratulations to Isla Harmon & Lily Troy for being recognized as our “6-Sport Athletes.
In High School, we had 9 “3-Sport Athletes” and 1 “4-Sport Athlete”. Special congratulations to Amika Begin for being recognized as our “4-Sport Athlete”.
Finally, High School Spring Sports are nearly over. This Saturday 5/4, HS Track & Field is racing at Twin Peaks starting at 9 am, and HS Girls’ Soccer is playing at Nederland starting at 9 am. Both of these are Foothills League events, and admission is charged for both events ($6 for adults, and $5 for students). Good luck, Panthers!
VOLLEYBALL SUMMER CAMPS
ATTENTION ALL HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES:
Coaches Leventhal, LeFaiver and Cronan and Joyce will be conducting open weight room sessions for any athletes who want to get bigger, stronger, faster this summer! There is no fee for these sessions. We will be opening the weight room each MWF from 9-11am from June 10-August 9. The gyms will be available in June only. Any athlete who wants to participate will need to have a waiver/contact information form on file before participating.
