We are so close to spring break! Just one more week!!

Everyone loves a break, but we still have a lot to accomplish this coming week before we can relax for two weeks!

• Second and third grade students will be taking the IREAD assessment on Tuesday and Wednesday. This is an important assessment, so we want students to come to school well rested and prepared!

• Wednesday Night we plan to celebrate with a fun Family Night! The theme of the night is Candyland and students should come ready to have fun, laugh with friends, and get lots of sweet treats!

We will wrap up the week with friends in our homerooms!

¡Estamos muy cerca de las vacaciones de primavera! ¡Solo falta una semana!

A todos nos encantan las vacaciones, pero todavía tenemos mucho que lograr esta semana que viene antes de poder relajarnos durante 2 semanas.

Los estudiantes de segundo y tercer grado realizarán la evaluación IREAD el martes y miércoles. Esta es una evaluación importante, por lo que queremos que los estudiantes vengan a la escuela bien descansados ​​y preparados.

All of our 2nd graders and some of our 3rd graders will be taking IREAD soon. The practice test is Friday, March 7th. IREAD will be given the mornings of Tuesday, March 11th and Wednesday, March 12th. Please try to arrive to school on time these days and avoid scheduling appointments during these times. Get plenty of sleep and try your best is all we ask - our students are going to do great!

Spring Picture Day is scheduled for the morning of March 14, 2025. If you wish for you child to have his/her picture taken on March 14, please pre-order spring pictures by clicking on this link. If you have any questions, please contact the front office at 317-789-3300. Thank you!

Kindergarten registration will begin on January 6, 2025 for those students who will be entering

Kindergarten in the Fall of 2025. The student must turn 5 years old on or before August 1, 2025 in order to register. There is a waiver process for children with a birthdate after August 1 st up to August 15th. Contact the school for information. The Kindergarten Academy your student will attend is determined by your residence only and not where other siblings may be attending. To determine which Kindergarten Academy your child will attend, please go to the Perry Township website at perryschools.org. Go to the For Parents tab, click on Enrollment, and Boundary Map.

Congratulations to Mrs. East's, Mrs. Wilson's (first grade), and Mrs. Robinson's class on becoming our next Ultimate COW classrooms!

We had a great spirit week to celebrate Read Across America and Dr. Seuss' birthday.

Fifth Graders are building terrariums in PLTW with Mrs. Lewis. Marigolds will soon be in bloom.

This week, our fourth grade EAN anchors completed writing their first scripts, and created backgrounds that matched. Two groups got time in front of the camera practicing reading clearly, and with expression.

Ms. Watterson's class had a space day after their astronomy unit. They took a virtual field trip to space, made constellations with marshmallows and toothpicks, and ate moon pies.

Our fifth graders took part in a once in a lifetime opportunity on Thursday. Beech Grove High School theater students put on a production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" this year. Their final performances just so happened to be at the same time our fifth graders are in a reading unit in which they are reading that exact play. The kids enjoyed being able to see all that tough-to-grasp Shakespeare language come to life and performed on stage. It not only was exciting to watch, but it also helped them comprehend the plot of the story at the same time.

Our math bowl team had their first competition earlier this week. Mrs. East, and all of our SES family, is proud of what a great job our team did.
