Dress Code
Review the dress code before the first day of school! There is one update to note: bottoms must be fist length when the students arms are fully extended. A few more highlights: straps must be three fingers wide (no off the shoulder tops), leggings are only allowed with a top that is fist length or longer. Check out the dress code here.
Immunizations: Required for 7th Grade
Get Your Physical -- Save the Date for Fall Sports!
Fall sports for 7th and 8th graders kick up as soon as we return to school! Mark your calendars that tryouts are scheduled to start after Labor Day for Football, Golf, Cheer, Softball, and Volleyball. As the start of school approaches, prospective athletes can find the required tryout paperwork on the CMS Athletics website, or get a copy from the front office. Note that a current physical is required, so make plans now to visit your doctor. Meet Mr. Blackley, Athletic Director, at Open House!
Hearing and Screening Notice
The speech-language pathologist (SLP) will conduct hearing screenings on any student suspected of having hearing problems, and/or those students new to CMS. A hearing screening can be requested by a parent, teacher or student. If a student fails two consecutive hearing screenings with the SLP, he/she will be referred to the school audiologist for a free hearing evaluation. Parents must sign a "Consent for Hearing Evaluation" form, prior to student contact with the audiologist. Parents who want their student to opt out of these hearing screening procedures, must communicate this in writing to the attention of the SLP. All questions regarding hearing screening procedures can be emailed to the SLP at Terrin.Pigatt@cms.k12.nc.us.
