THE PIONEER PRESS
CROSWELL-LEXINGTON MIDDLE SCHOOL - AUG/SEP 2024
Welcome Back
Pioneer Families,
Welcome to the 2024/2025 school year! The first day of school is Monday, August 26, 2024. Our day begins at 8:06 a.m. and will end at 3:00 p.m.
First Day Procedures:
If you are driving your student to school, please note that we only have one entrance to our building. The parent drop off loop is located at the back of the middle school. All students must enter through the backdoors of the building. Please make sure that you pull forward as far as possible to allow other students to be dropped off safely. Please see the Parent Loop Map HERE.
5th and 6th grade students will report to the cafeteria. Students will have time to eat breakfast if they would like to. 5th and 6th grade teachers will meet their students in the cafeteria and escort them to their first hour class. Students will then have time to put materials in their lockers. Staff members will be available to support students throughout the day with lockers.
7th grade students will report to the art hallway and wait. 8th grade students will report to the gymnasium hallway. 7th and 8th grade students that will be eating breakfast can pick up their breakfast in the cafeteria line and eat in the designated hallway. Students will be dismissed from the hallway area to report to their lockers and then to their first hour class.
Students can view their schedules on Skyward. Class Rosters will also be posted in the hallway by the concession stand window, for any student that is unsure where to report first hour.
Parking and Student Drop Off:
All students at the Middle School will enter the building in the drop off zone at the back of the school, and students will be dismissed from the back as well. During the times from 7:45 a.m. - 8:15 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. - 3:15 p.m., we are asking parents not to park in front of the school. Your cooperation will assist us in ensuring a safe traffic flow during the busiest times of the day. Parking in the front lots of the middle school will be reserved for parents and guests entering into our Middle School and District Central Offices throughout the school day.

Cell Phone Policy:
For the last 5 years, school board policy at the middle school has been that personal devices (including cell phones) are not allowed to be utilized by students during the instructional day. These devices may be utilized before and after school and during the lunch/recess period. During class periods and passing times, phones are to be kept in lockers. If you need to communicate with your student during the days’ instructional time, please call the CLMS Office at 810-679-1400. Please understand that the use of personal devices during these times causes disruption to the learning process for all students and becomes a safety concern in the hallways. Infractions of the cell policy do result in disciplinary measures.
