Hello Scarborough Middle School Families,

Last day of 2024-25 School Year- June 13th
The last day of school is Friday, June 13th. This will be a half day for students and a full day for staff. Dismissal time for students in grades 6 - 12 will be 10:45am.
Final Quarter 4 Grades
Your child’s final Q4 grades will be viewable in PowerSchool on Monday, June 16. In addition, report cards will be emailed on the same day. Schedules will be mailed out in mid-August for the incoming 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.

Medication Pick Up
Please be sure to pick up all medications for your child that are stored in the health office no later than 12:00 pm on June 13, 2025. Any medicine left at school after that time will be discarded. Medication cannot be stored in the clinic over the summer.
If your child has an EpiPen or inhaler stored at school and you prefer we send it home with them we will do so on the last day of school. All other prescription and over the counter medications MUST be picked up by an adult.

Medical orders for the fall may be faxed directly to the clinic at 730-4834. Medications to be stored in the clinic for the 2025-26 school year may be dropped off by an adult starting on August 25th from 8am-2:00pm. Parent permission form is linked here, as a reminder this must be filled out each year.

SMS Spirit Week June 9-13
8th Grade Celebration Live Stream
Scarborough Middle School's 8th Grade Celebration Ceremony will take place tonight at 6pm in the Scarborough High School Alumni Gym.
The event will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in-person. The livestream can be found on the Scarborough Red Storm TV YouTube Channel.
SMS Lost and Found
Our lost and found is overflowing! Please have your student check our lost and found for any apparel that may belong to them. We hope to have all items returned to their owners as soon as possible. Please note that any items not claimed by the last day of school 6/13 will be donated.

When is sick too sick for school?
Student Absence Reporting
Families should report their middle school student's absence from school by calling the SMS main office at 207-730-4800 or by email at msoffice@scarboroughschools.org. A reason for the absence must be stated, otherwise SMS office staff will reach out to determine the reason for the absence.
Excusable reasons for an absence:
- illness
- appointment
- religious holiday
- family emergency
- planned absence
For Planned Absences (a day out of school which is not illness or medical appointment related), families should fill out the Scarborough Middle School Planned Absence for which is found here.
