As educators and mentors, it fills us with immense pride to witness the growth and accomplishments of our students. Their achievements reflect not only their own efforts but also the unwavering support of their families and the dedication of our staff.
Congratulations to all our 8th graders on a job well done! Your achievements inspire us all, and we look forward to seeing the bright futures you will undoubtedly create.
🎨 Art Show 🎨
This week marked a dazzling showcase of creativity as our students' talents shone brightly at the Middle School Art Show, held in conjunction with the choir and band concerts.
The event was a splendid celebration of artistic ability, showcasing our students' diverse talents and skills. From vibrant paintings to intricate sculptures, every piece on display reflected the passion and dedication of our young artists.
The Middle School Art Show provided a platform for our students to express themselves and share their unique perspectives with the community. Witnessing the depth of creativity and imagination displayed by our talented students was truly inspiring.
To our teachers, Mrs. Martiny and Mr. Miller, we extend our heartfelt congratulations for your outstanding teaching and passion for Art. To our students, your creativity and talent have enriched our school community and left a lasting impression on all who attended.
🎶 Choir and Band Concerts 🎶
Once again, the remarkable talent of our Adams students took center stage in our recent band and choir concerts. Witnessing their dedication and hard work come to life was truly inspiring. The performances were a testament to the countless hours of practice and passion poured into their music.
From enchanting melodies to powerful harmonies, each piece performed was a testament to the talent and commitment of our students. Special recognition goes to those who graced the stage with mesmerizing solos, captivating the audience with their exceptional skill and artistry.
As always, I am in awe of the incredible talent within our school community. Congratulations to all the performers for their outstanding contributions to the concerts. Mr. Martinez and Mr. Greene, your passion and commitment have truly enriched our school community!
👟 Track and Field 👟
Our track and field team concluded their season with an exciting tri-meet at Wayne Memorial High School. It was a beautiful evening, and our students showcased their talent and determination, securing 2nd place overall. The hard work and dedication they demonstrated throughout the season have not gone unnoticed. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing their continued success in the future. Congratulations to all our athletes, Coach Keisha, Coach Pruden, Coach Woodard, and Coach Sharon Woodard!
⚽ Girls Soccer ⚽
Congratulations to our Lady Eagles for securing second place at the tri-city soccer game on Wednesday! We are incredibly proud of the Eagles' hard work and dedication. A special thank you to Coach Hall and Coach Lietz for your caring attitude and exceptional coaching skills, which truly make a difference for our girls. Go, Eagles!
🌻 Poetry and Nature 🌻
Our amazing librarian, Mrs. Vasiloff-Ebbitt, designed an unforgettable lesson combining nonfiction texts about preserving nature with the art of haiku poetry. This unique experience took our learning outside, where we immersed ourselves in the beauty of nature while gaining knowledge and inspiration.
🦉 Dissecting Owl Pellets🦉
Dissecting owl pellets is indeed a fascinating and educational experience! Students in Mrs. Krupski's science class recently had the opportunity to engage in this hands-on activity, uncovering all sorts of "treasures" within the pellets. Owl pellets contain the indigestible parts of an owl's prey and often hold bones, fur, feathers, and other remains. These discoveries provide students with a unique glimpse into the diet and hunting habits of owls, as well as an opportunity to practice scientific observation and analysis. Through careful examination, students can identify the types of animals the owl has consumed, reconstruct skeletal structures, and learn about the food chain and ecosystem dynamics. Such activities not only enhance their understanding of biology and ecology but also spark curiosity and enthusiasm for the natural world.
🍪 Baking Up Math Skills: Mrs. Argue's Class 🍪
Mrs. Argue's classroom has turned into a bustling bakery as students dive into the world of math through the art of baking! With sleeves rolled up, students are discovering the importance of measuring and math in a tasty and engaging way.
From measuring ingredients to understanding fractions for recipes, each step of the baking process is a lesson in mathematical concepts. Through hands-on experience, students are not only honing their math skills but also developing a deeper appreciation for the subject.
Baking isn't just about following recipes; it's about problem-solving and critical thinking. Students are learning to make adjustments and calculations on the fly, all while creating mouthwatering treats.
💻 Chromebook Collection 💻
Adams is conducting a mass collection of ALL Chromebooks this year from 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students. This is the first time we are doing a mass collection, and it is essential for us to assess our inventory and prepare for summer maintenance.

📝 MiPhy Survey-7th grade ONLY 📝
This year, our district is taking part in the Michigan Profile for Healthy Youth Survey supported by the Michigan Department of Education. The research survey will ask about the health behaviors of 7th, 9th, and 11th grade students. The survey will ask about behavior and attitude related to nutrition, physical activity, injuries, tobacco, alcohol, and other drug use. It will also ask about sexual behaviors that cause AIDS, other sexually transmitted diseases, and pregnancy.
The results of this survey will help students in the future, and allow school leaders to develop curriculum and programming that best meet the needs of our students and families. We would like all selected students to take part in the survey, but the survey is voluntary. If you have any questions, please contact Daryl Beebe, beebed@wwcsd.net, or the building principal.
You only need to return this form (below) if you do not give your child permission to take the survey.

Attendance
Regular attendance is crucial for your child's academic success. Please make every effort to ensure your child attends school on time every day and stays throughout the whole day. Consistent attendance throughout the school day allows your child to engage in learning and maximize their educational opportunities fully.
Illness: If your child is not feeling well and cannot attend school, please notify us immediately. Students who are ill should not attend school to prevent the spread of illness to others.
Excused Absences: We understand that there may be instances when your child needs to be absent due to illness, medical appointments, family emergencies, or other legitimate reasons. Please notify the school in advance whenever possible to classify the absence as excused.
Unexcused Absences: Unexcused absences negatively impact your child's education. Absences without valid reasons will be considered unexcused, and appropriate actions may be taken per district policy.
Timely reporting of absences helps us maintain accurate attendance records and ensures that your child's absence is properly documented. Absences must be reported within 24 hours.
There are two convenient methods for reporting your child's absence to facilitate efficient communication and accurate attendance records.
You can notify your child's school through the dedicated attendance line. Please leave a detailed message stating your child's name, grade, and reason for absence.
You can report absences directly through MiStar, our secure online portal for student information. MiStar provides a user-friendly interface that allows you to submit absences.
Thank you for your ongoing support in creating a positive and productive learning environment for all our students.
