Digital Mapping of Campus Facilities Employed to Increase School Safety in F1S
Florence 1 Schools has begun implementation of the GEOCOM system which is a digital mapping solution that leverages the very latest GIS (Geographical Information Systems) technology. It is designed to support faster response to school emergencies by providing real-time indoor digital visualization of school campus maps.
Through this application system, all facilities in Florence 1 Schools will be able to use digital mapping tool software to create a digital display of the school campus layout. High school campuses, which encompass the district’s largest land mass locations, have already been digitally equipped. The total project will have been completed once all school facilities have been digitized.
