PICTURES & NEWS
THE LAST BIKING FRIDAY OF 2023 WENT WELL
Slightly more than a dozen students and teachers gathered at Houghton Park in the early dawn on Friday, October 7th. The weather was incredibly mild for the end of October, making the bike ride or walk to school an easy pleasure. Other walkers and bikers from around the city participated independently and were noted as they picked up stickers, pencils and slap bracelets as a reward for their participation.

VOYAGERS SALMON CATCHING INVENTIONS
Continuing with the Fat Bear feeding theme mentioned in earlier posts, the classroom group tackled the challenge of inventing salmon catching equipment. Their goal was to find ways of catching enough fish to feed the bears, while leaving enough fish in the brooks and rivers to spawn further upstream, thereby keeping the salmon population thriving. Most students created inventions individually while others paired up with friends. Pictures were taken of the first five students to present. It was impressive how well students listened to each other. The questions asked of the presenters was also something to admire.
