Weekly Wave - Summer Edition
We ARE Summit Sharks
Hello, Summit Sharks! I hope you and your family are enjoying a wonderful and restful summer break. As the new school year approaches, I am filled with excitement and anticipation for the opportunities and growth that lie ahead for our students.
First and foremost, I want to extend a warm welcome to all the new families joining our school community. We are delighted to have you with us and look forward to getting to know you and your children. To our returning families, welcome back! We are thrilled to continue our journey together and build upon the successes of the previous year.
Over the summer, our dedicated staff has been hard at work preparing for the new school year. Classrooms have been updated, new resources have been acquired, and we have planned an array of engaging and enriching activities for our students. Our goal is to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
As we embark on this new academic year, I would like to highlight a few important updates and reminders:
First Day of School: School will commence on August 5, 2024. We encourage all students to arrive on time and ready to learn. Detailed information regarding class assignments can be found on the Aeries Parent Portal after 4:00 PM on Thursday, August 1st.
Communication: Open and effective communication between home and school is essential for student success. We encourage you to stay connected with us through our school website, newsletters, and social media channels. Additionally, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or the school office with any questions or concerns.
Parent Involvement: We value and appreciate the support of our parents and guardians. There will be numerous opportunities for you to get involved in school activities, volunteer, and participate in our Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA). Your engagement makes a significant difference in our school community.
I am truly excited about the year ahead and the incredible potential it holds for our students. Together, we will create a positive and inspiring learning environment where every child can reach their full potential.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Here’s to a fantastic school year!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Kelley

This will be used as a specialized parking and drop off/pick up area. The south parking lot gate near the multi-purpose room will NOT be open for students to enter the campus.
BUS LANE REGULATIONS:
For safety reasons, DO NOT park in the bus lane. This lane is for immediate drop off and pick up only. Wait patiently in line and pull ahead as far as possible before allowing students to enter or exit the car. Follow the directions of school personnel. Students may be dropped off only in the lane that is adjacent to the Summit Intermediate curb. The lane adjacent to the district office is for through traffic only. Rooms & Parent-Teacher Chat Feature
The district is excited to continue our successful partnership with you by using Rooms as a two-way communication tool. Last school year, 92% of our families regularly used this platform. Since its launch, we have made many enhancements to make communication between parents and teachers seamless, integrating it into our existing Etiwanda app. Our community expressed the need for all information to be available in a single app, and adopting this platform is our response to help our families stay informed and engaged.
To ensure a smooth transition, here are some important steps:
Download the Etiwanda App from the App Store or Google Play Store using this link.
Look for a message in August with a link to activate your Rooms account. Click the link and create a password. Once your setup is complete, you will be automatically synced with your teacher and can communicate through the App.
Set your language preferences to your desired language, which will be easily translated based on your account settings.
Enable notifications and automatic updates in your phone settings.
** If you already registered last year, there is no need to complete this process again as it carries over into the 24/25 school year.
Rooms is also available on a desktop or laptop by visiting eduRooms.com. While we recommend using the App, you can still access Rooms on a computer using the provided URL. Bookmark the site for easy access.
Here are some helpful features of the Etiwanda App that make it the hub for everything Etiwanda:
Aeries gradebook integrated into the main menu.
Direct access to child care.
Live feed for school and district announcements.
Breakfast and lunch menus.
Toggle between schools for families with multiple students in the Etiwanda District.
Access to resources also available on our website (e.g., calendar, enrollment, medication forms, and more).
For more information, view the video linked here. https://youtu.be/omOUerPE0wo
If you have any difficulty registering your account for Rooms, please contact the school office.
