Looking for Gently Used Puzzles
Our School Counselor is looking for some gently used kids’ puzzles (100 pieces or less) that you no longer need. We’d like to make these puzzles available for students in our sensory room.
Introducing the Golden Leopard Award
This year at Liberty, we have introduced our Golden Leopard Award to recognize Liberty staff members. You can use this form to recognize a Liberty staff member's "outstanding dedication, commitment to excellence and care for others." This is your opportunity to let them know that you, as a member of our school community, have witnessed and valued the impact of their hard work and positive attitude here at Liberty Elementary. Each month, Dr. Belair will collect the names of all staff who have been nominated in that month, and enter them into a random drawing. The name drawn will receive a Golden Leopard Award Certificate and will be given the Golden Leopard statue to display in their classroom or workspace for the next month. If a staff member's name is NOT selected, they will STILL receive a copy of your nomination to encourage them in their work! This month, all nominations will be due on September 19th.

Bus Safety Drills
Each school year Transportation personnel conduct bus safety drills with each of our grade levels. Highlights of the drill include how to quickly and safely exit the bus in the event of an emergency, along with a review of the general bus rules summarized below:
The school bus driver is in charge of the bus at all times.
Students riding school buses are expected to arrive at the bus stop 5 minutes prior to scheduled pickup time.
Students are expected to board, leave, and ride the school bus in an orderly and non-disruptive manner.
Students will sit facing forward in their seats from the time of boarding until disembarking.
They will refrain from engaging in any conversation or activity which could reasonably interfere with the safety of passengers or with the bus driver’s safe operation of the bus. .
Students will not transport an animal, dangerous objects, or throw objects either out of or within the bus. They will not extend any part of their body out of a window.
Students will make no noise while a school bus is approaching or crossing a railroad crossing or at any other point of danger as specified by the bus driver.
Students should cross all streets at least 10 feet in front of the school bus and remain visible to the driver at all times. Upon departing the bus in the afternoon, students are to proceed to a designated place of safety where they must remain until the bus leaves the stop.
Our bus safety drill is scheduled for Wednesday, September 18th.
