Welcome Back
I wanted to let you know that the State Report Card Ratings went out last week and our school scored a rating of Average. This means that our School performance meets the criteria to ensure all students meet the Profile of the SC Graduate. Our School Report Card rating is based on SC Ready results, ML WIDA Scores, and Climate Surveys of parents, teachers and students. Although we maintained a score of Average, we grew 4.5% in Reading and Math Achievement.
Our students all took the iReady Screener in August. Once completed, the program sets up a personal pathway for the students and with targeted lessons for areas they need improvement on. Our students work to pass one Math and one Reading Lesson each week. When students have passed 10, 20 and 30 lessons they get to autograph the window and ring the victory bell in the lobby. All students will take the iReady Assessment again in December and this will re-set their personal pathways for second semester. Teachers will send home a report at that time. iReady is a great program and we are excited to see our students growing.
We met our school's Wildly Important Goals in Reading and Math for the month of September. On Multiplication Fluency our school grew from 26% to 36%. Our Reading Fluency grew from 44%-57%. Students were awarded with a Hat Day last week.
Our Classroom Celebration Ceremonies will be held next week. Each student will be sharing a slide that includes things they are proud of. There should also be time to look at their Leadership Binders. We will have a table set up in the lobby if you still need to join PTA. The dues are $5.
(Monday- Grade 3 CCC, Tuesday- Grade 4 CCC, and Wednesday- Grade 5 CCC) The time of the CCCs will be sent out by your child's teacher.
Thank you for being partners in education with us! Happy Fall Ya'll!

I hope you're doing well and enjoying this fabulous fall weather! It's been an amazing start to the school year, and I'm so excited to share some updates from SRI.
First off, we're thrilled to have parent volunteers back in the building. Your support is invaluable, and we're so grateful for all the wonderful things you're helping us with. One of the exciting new developments is the launch of our "B team" of student leaders, who will be working on improving bus and school behavior. We'd love your help in reminding your students about the importance of using kind words and making positive, proactive decisions with regard to keeping their hands and feet to themselves.
I also want to encourage everyone to stay connected through Rooms and regularly check their child's grades on Schoology. Open communication between school and home is key to our students' success. If you notice any missing assignments, please don't hesitate to reach out to the teacher right away.
We're pumped about the new state reading standards and the HMH curriculum, which have really upped the rigor and depth of our students' exposure to amazing literature. We're already seeing incredible growth, and we'd appreciate your support in encouraging your child to read at home and discuss the content with them. And don't forget, maintaining fact fluency in math, especially with multiplication and division, is a great way to help your child succeed.
Please feel free to give me a call or send an email anytime if you have any questions or needs. We are so grateful for our SRI family and your continued support.
Take care,

We Welcome Leader in Me
Our school has chosen to operate through a uniquely different lens. Leader in Me is about empowering your child to reach their full potential while ultimately finding their voice. As a school, the staff in the building have made five core commitments to your child. We call these our Core Paradigms. In these paradigms, you will find the belief and way we view all students. At Sangaree Intermediate School we see that:
- Everyone is a leader.
- Everyone has genius.
- Change starts with me.
- We empower students to lead their own learning.
- Educators and families partner to develop the whole person.
As each child discovers their own unique talents and gifts, they will be given opportunities to lead. As leaders they become active engaged partners in their own education, and their self-confidence, responsibility, and initiative grows. The Mission at SRI is to Learn, Lead and Serve.
To prepare our students for learning each day the class starts the school day with a morning meeting to discuss one of the 7-Habits and how they can use them in their daily lives. Each class also wrote their own class mission statements and they recite this each morning. Our students each have a classroom leadership role and many applied and have school leadership roles, as well. Our students have Leadership Notebooks with 5 key sections they will share with you at our Classroom Celebration Ceremonies. Service Learning is the final part in our mission. Each grade level is asked to complete at least one service learning project each year. Fourth Grade has already collected and distributed much needed supplies for victims of Hurricane Helene.
We will continue to have school events that teach our families about Habits at Home! Working together we will build leaders, one child at a time!
