Cahaba Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Cahaba kindergarten students gathered for a festive feast that celebrated both gratitude and unity. Decked in homemade Native American-inspired t-shirts, each child proudly adorned their unique outfit. To further immerse themselves in the cultural experience, students chose and embraced Native American inspired names for the occasion. The lunchroom transformed into a lively picture of diversity and camaraderie as the children shared a feast, fostering a sense of appreciation for both their shared heritage and the beauty of different traditions. Through this imaginative and heartwarming celebration, the kindergarten students not only learned about the history of Thanksgiving but also embraced the values of friendship, understanding, and cultural respect.

Cahaba Hosts Successful Food Drive
Cahaba came together for a big food drive, collecting over 3900 non-perishables to help the community. Classrooms competed to see who could donate the most, and the winning homeroom gets a cool prize—a field trip to T.E.A.M! This hands-on experience will show the kids how their donations make a real difference in serving the community. The food drive not only stocked up the local pantry but also taught students the value of giving back and helping those in need.
Thanksgiving Food Drive at Magnolia
Magnolia Elementary’s Student Leadership Team, under the leadership of Lauren Blake, Student Leadership Team sponsor, organized a food drive for T.E.A.M., Trussville’s local food bank. Students contacted T.E.A.M. to see what items were most needed. Ann Forde, a representative from T.E.A.M., let us know they needed breakfast items, peanut butter, jelly, spaghetti sauce, pasta, and dry cooking ingredients the most. Each grade level was encouraged to bring in an assigned item from the list provided by T.E.A.M. Magnolia students donated 560 items to show gratitude and help others in need. Mrs. Blake, school counselor and Student Leadership Team sponsor, said, "This month we have been learning about showing gratitude to others and always being thankful. This food drive has been a great real-life object lesson showing the importance of blessing others with the many blessings we have received."
