Good evening, Waters Landing family,
October is National Bully Prevention Month. We will have our Anti-Bullying assemblies on Tuesday as a culminating event. Our anti-bully work does not end because October is closing out. This will be a continuous focus throughout the school year.
Please see the Health Room newsletter and resources linked below. There have been several students out sick with a variety of illnesses. Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease is one of them. Please look for the signs of illness and if your child exhibits any of them, keep him or her home. Discuss the importance of handwashing with your students. That is one of the best ways to keep germ-spreading at a minimum.
Attention families of Grade 5 students: The Middle School Magnet Consortium admission season is open and forms are due this Friday,11/3/23. The Middle School Magnet Consortium (MSMC) is made up of three schools – Argyle, Loiederman, and Parkland middle schools – each of which offers an innovative and challenging magnet curriculum. Argyle focuses on digital design and development; Loiederman offers a creative and performing arts focus; and Parkland provides students the opportunity to explore math and science through aerospace technology and robotic engineering. Admission is based upon a Choice process open to all Montgomery County students who are currently in Grade 5. WLES Dolphins are considered Out of Consortium students, and they should use this link to complete their MSMC Choice Form: http://bit.ly/choiceMSMC. Out of Consortium students MUST be logged into their MCPS Google Account for the MSMC choice link (above) to open. (How to apply- video) (Cómo aplicar-video).

The second round, which will run from Friday, January 5 to February 9, 2024, is for the waitlist for the 2024–2025 school year.
