Virtual Learning Day---March 22
Your learning experience for Friday's virtual day may look slightly different based on the course. However, there are some commonalities shared among all LHS teachers/courses. Please review the following:
You will be required to login to Schoology and complete an assignment or activity for each class.
Teachers (unless they are absent) may be available via Google Meet for specific office hours (See the schedule below). Although, students should pre-schedule virtual office hour meetings with their teachers.
Teachers will communicate their plan for office hours with classes and individual students. The work that is assigned will be something that can be completed independent of the teacher. Not all teachers will require every student to login for office hours. Many teachers may make logging in for office hours optional. That will be up to the individual teacher. Make sure you check with your teacher and/or the daily agenda on your Schoology page.
Teachers will offer optional office hours. To help prevent conflicts in office hour times between subjects, we will use the following schedule:
8:00 - 8:40 Health/PE and Fine Arts
8:40 - 9:20 Science
9:20 - 10:00 ELA
10:00 - 10:40 Math
10:40 - 11:20 Social Studies
11:20 - 12:00 World Languages and CTE

Registration is not finalized until you are sent an email with the payment information.
SMCPS will also be offering an 80/20 virtual course option for Health 2 in the fall and spring of school year 2025. The 80/20 model requires 80% of the course to be completed online and 20% of the course to be delivered via Google Meet. The Google Meet sessions will occur before or after the regular school day based on the teacher's availability. Advertisement and registration for this option will be available in April.
The registration link for Health II in the summer is found here: Summer Course Google Form.
No Food/Drink Deliveries
Due to safety concerns and the demands on the main office, we do not accept food deliveries of any kind. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Senioritis and Spring 2024
- Senioritis is not new. The term has been around since 1907 (www.merriam-webster.com, 2024).
- Don't risk what you may have already earned, such as scholarships or admission to programs, by skipping classes and full days of school.
- It's hard to restart good habits once they are broken. Make your life easier by keeping up healthy school habits of being on time and completing your work.
- Create some goals for yourself or amongst your friends and family to help you finish strong. Guardians, please help us help the students finish strong as they wrap up their Senior year.
- By definition Juniors cannot have Senioritis, so Juniors keep working hard- the summer is not too far away.
LHS Tutoring Program
Free Tutoring is available to LHS students from LHS teachers in the areas of MATH, ELA, SCIENCE, and SPANISH. There is tutoring available on site before school, during lunch, and after school. Reminder for Parents/Guardians - Student Drop Off
Parents who are dropping students off at school in the morning should use the parking lot lane closest to the building. Please do not park in in a space and wait to drop your student off. Unfortunately, parking is very limited for both students and staff. Utilizing extra parking spaces for this purpose can create an issue where there is nowhere for staff or student drivers to park. Additionally, please do not drive down the middle parking lot lane in order to drop a student at school. We appreciate your help!
Reminder: Students, make sure your laptop is charged each day!
Students, please make sure your laptop is charged each day. Bring your charger to school in case your battery runs out.
