Hayes Happenings
August 14th, 2024

Hello Huskies!
I hope this message finds you warm and well after an unusual week with extra days off! Despite the changes to our schedule, it has been wonderful to see our students back in the building, ready to learn and grow.
Celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. On Monday, our nation honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. While we were not in school, many students shared how their families celebrated this important day. From acts of kindness to reflecting on Dr. King’s messages of equality and perseverance, these conversations have been an inspiring part of our week.
Weather Closures Thank you for your patience and understanding during this week’s unexpected closures due to extreme cold weather. Safety is always our priority, and we appreciate your flexibility. Looking ahead, we hope for smoother weather and a return to our regular routines.
Character Trait of the Month: Grit This month, we are focusing on the character trait of grit, which is all about perseverance, resilience, and trying your best even when things get tough. This week, teachers have shared stories, videos, and activities to help students understand what it means to show grit. You can support this effort at home by encouraging your child to tackle challenges with a positive attitude and to celebrate their efforts, even when things don’t go as planned.
Stay warm and take care!
Sincerely,
Mrs.Broome
Class Buddies!
Mrs. Gougeon and Mrs. Domingo’s students had a blast exploring the fascinating world of penguins! From waddling into fun facts to crafting their very own adorable penguin creations, the students’ excitement and creativity truly made the lesson come alive.
