FJVD Weekly Info...
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear FJVD Families,
I am thrilled to officially begin my time at Fr. John V. Doyle School! Your kind words of welcome and continued prayers are greatly appreciated.
When I arrived at school for my first official day this past Monday, I spent the morning going through a few miscellaneous items in the office. In the process, I uncovered a battered wooden ruler with a slogan boldly emblazoned across the top: "Father John V. Doyle - A School You Can Believe In!"
I had to smile at this little bit of providence. No slogan could better capture what inspires me most about Fr. John V. Doyle School. From the tireless support of our Pastor, to our incredible staff - many of whom have served the school for ten, fifteen, or twenty years - to our dedicated and selfless parents, this community is marked by a profound and beautiful belief in the mission and goodness of the school.
As my time here continues, I look forward to working together with each of you to deepen and enrich this belief. What we do here as a school community - providing young people with a solid, well-rounded education rooted in the Faith - is an incredibly important task. Thankfully, it is not a task that any one of us takes on alone, as we are always walking together in this pursuit of truth and transformation.
May these summer months present an opportunity to spend time together and enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation. Be assured of my continued prayers for you and your families.
Go Saints!
Sincerely,
Mr. Peloquin
P.S. The ruler is now appropriately and proudly displayed on my desk.
The Mission of Father John V. Doyle School is to provide students with a solid, well-rounded education based on Roman Catholic Tradition.

Welcome to Fr. Brendan Rowley!
We welcome our new Associate Pastor Rev. Brendan Rowley! Like me, Fr. Rowley officially began his time here on July 1st.
Fr. Rowley is a Bishop Hendricken graduate, who has a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education from Rhode Island College. He entered St. John Seminary in Boston, Massachusetts in 2013 for his formation for the priesthood. His summer assignments as a seminarian included St. Joseph, Woonsocket, where he served under our pastor, Fr. Woolley. He was ordained a transitional deacon on May 26, 2018, and a priest on June 8, 2019.
Please join me in welcoming Fr. Rowley to our parish and school community!
Gordon Orthodontics and R.I. Dentistry Reading Contest
Using the reading log attached below, keep track of how many books/pages you read over the summer. Then, turn in your reading logs at school (no later than September 5th). Your log must be signed by a parent.
You could help our school win $1,000!
Thank you for your support!
Purple Bins help our school!
Keep saving those Box Tops!
Don't forget to save your Box Tops over the summer for next year!
See the letter below for information on uploading Box Tops to the new Box Top App!
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This opens up Father John V. Doyle School to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
Aluminum Can Tab Collection
What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected
Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can you help? Save can tabs over the summer and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room when you return in August!
